Did anyone here play FFXI? I liked the game, a lot, despite a lot of negative reviews. It had a lot of players playing, lots of servers, and tonsssssssss to do. It's main downfall was that it was near impossible to play the game without a team.

Anyway, Final Fantasy XIV is coming out soon. They're going to release the Beta soon, too, I presume. I've signed up for the possible testing list for PS3.

Oh yeah Final Fantasy XI was online and shared the same servers with the Japanese players - had an auto translate function which worked pretty well and pretty hilariously sometimes. It also let people on PC play with people on PS3 so there were two platforms in two nations playing together. Oh and the crafting system / the economy in it is pretty good.

oh and here:

I prefer the non-online ff games.

It's pretty separate from the offline FF games; I just happen to be a big fan of MMOs. FFXI was pretty decent (unfortunately WoW is STILL the best one out there) and I'm hoping this one proves to be similar to FFXI but with fixes to what was wrong and the ability to level up by playing solo.

I'll be getting this for PS3. I usually don't like MMORPGs exclusively because of the usually-automatic battle system but I need a new online fix.
