Forums _ Tech Help _ Which antivirus license should I buy?

Posted by: mockingbird Mar 20 2011, 02:09 PM

Read some reviews and so far Nod32 is far superior in terms of scanning. I never used Nod32 and I have been using the trial version of AVG Internet Security.

So which one would you choose?

Trial version of AVG? Why not just get the free version? And you don't need to pay for any anti virus. Microsoft created a new free anti virus software called http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

Because the free version detects nothing. I don't know if I want to trust Security Essentials because isn't Windows Defenders like that? Last time I used Defenders, it barely picked up anything.

Security Essentials is anti virus. Defender is not. And it won't pick up anything unless you have anything anyways.

microsoft security essentials is the best traditional antivirus available. pair it up with comodo, a good firewall, and adblock and you've got one of the most secure windows systems possible

I have AVG Internet security. I have not had a problem with it.

yeah above all else the best thing you can use is common sense 2011 with adblock plus and a hosts file that blocks sites that are known for giving you viruses. http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

ok in installed adblock and i'm going to upgrade to the AVG license, but does adblock really block every ad and what is the other thing you guys said?

I think AVG is a pretty cool anti-virus, eh kills malware and doesnt afraid of anything.

Posted by: boot Apr 13 2011, 05:56 PM

no avg doesn't kill malware it doesn't pick up shit

Nod32 is a good choice cause it's better than AVG.
I browse 4chan, and AVG used to give me false sht and all.
If you really can't make a choice then go the next alternative: Microsoft Security Essentials.

Right now I don't use any Antivirus cause I'm too lazy to download one.
I do have 2-3 viruses on my computer but they are fail. They run at start-up and are like "Choose which program to open virus.exe with:".
