For the first image in PSP -
Click on Colors > Posterize. Fiddle with the levels until you get what you want. What exactly do you want on the other one? |

1. open your image up on PhotoShop.
2. Then Go to Filter/Artistic/Cutout. (filter is located on the top tool bar of your PS screen) 3. Play arround with the options.. i deppends on your image i used number of levels: 8 edge simplicity: 1 edge fidelity: 1 my example: |

all they did was take a black brush and scribble all over the face.
you can do that in ms paint, or any graphics editing program. |

You can also use Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop Elements, GIMP Shop, and other lesser-known programs.

For PSP.
1. Okay - posterize your image like before. 2. Now, create a new layer and set it on "Overlay." 3. You can paint colors on top of your picture, similar to your example. Do this for several different images with different colors, and then place them in squares in a new image to get your final product. It's not the "exact" way to do that, but it's the easiest. |

Off the top of my head, that's the only way in PSP. But then again, I use version 7, so there might be another way that you'll have to find.

thats not the way to posterize in PSP8 or 9.
i normally use an adjustment layer Layers - New Adjustment Layer - Posterize. also, Effects - Artistic Effects - Posterize |

Gah, my computer crashed as I was typing a response. :x!
To get the effect in the second photo, you can still use the Posterize filter and after duplicating the layer and positioning it however you wish, you can change the colors. I know there's a Colorize feature in Photoshop. I'm currently searching for a tutorial on Google with little luck so if someone who uses PSP knows what the equivalent of the colorize feature is, please mention it. :x |

If you use the same colors as in the example photo, it should come out something like that. After you color it the way you want, mess around with the filter effects to get the desired effect.
