urg...first one...i was freaken scared, i mean i kno it would happen, but it was scary...and the thing was...my parents were in this huge fight...so i didn't kno what to do...i told my step mom and she just threw me a pad and told me to read pamplets they gave out in middle school ...i guess it came in the wrong time...i don't remember i had any cramps tho...which is good...

I forgot all about my first encounter with period...I do remember in 7th grade when my friend was surprised that I didn't know what period was, they said I'll know pretty soon and a couple months later I was just like "OOOOHHHHH"

Mine started in the morning so I caught it before it got too bloody. I was prepared for it too though, since everyone around me already had it. I was excited for it before I got it, but now that I have it I want it to go away... until I'm ready for a kid of course =)

Well.. it depends on when it happens...

It has a tendancy to come along at night so it takes me hours to realize it (because I'm sleeping) so A LOT comes out over that period of time. (My froggie boxers got ruined over that. *tear* )

But during the day I catch it fast enough that I can just get tampons and fix myself up.

mine was a breeze. It was like...nothing really. It was just a few days and it was really really really light. Thats all I remember. It was about 6 months later when I started getting cramps from hell. sucked.

I got really bad stomach cramps (which actually wasn't unusual for me at the tiem so I didn't even think that it was sometihng different) but then I suddenly realized that my underpants were wet and I'm like "uhhh, how could I wet my pants standign up and..not notice?!" so I rushed to the bathroom and saw the blood...than I waddled to my bedroom trying not to touch the blood in my underpants and then I put on a pad and went downstairs adnt old my mom..pretty simple...but I Was miserable all day cause I thought ppl could see my pad thoruhg my pants or something..but I kinda doubt it, I was jsut really really miserable...with the cramps and everything

I hardly get cramps at all now tho! YAY! ..that's the worst part...but I keep advil in my pocket/purse all the tiem anyway...jsut incase..god I hate those stomach cramps..

why do humans have ot get periods and like no other naimal on earth does?!?!?!? like take cats for example, I sued to have an unspade female cat as an indoor cat and she never leeked blood, EVER! it's weird....why do humans do it?

Baaaaaaaaaaad. It hurt so much I thought I was being eaten from my stomach out. Then when I saw the blood later my mom went to the bathroom with me and explained what happened. Later on I felt so weak! What sucked even more was that it was Winter Break and had snowed. It melted away before I got to play in it. Damn T.O.M.

When i got my first period, I was in fourth grade and had no idea what it was. I tried to hide it for two days, but my mom found out eventually on the second day. I was so afraid -- I'd heard something about "bleeding 'down there' when you're pregnant"! I was scared to death, but I was reassured by my mother.

It certainly stinks to get it so early, though. Not fun. Imagine the look on my fourth grade teacher's face when I had to tell her why I kept going to my backpack before recess.

when i first got mine in 6th grade, i was at home. (thank the lord i didn't get it during school!) i got all paranoid because i thought the people at my school would make fun of me for it. i did everything i could to hide it from my friends! then during 7th .. i just got used to it and realized all girls get it! (i wasn't the only one) but yeah, when i first got it, i didn't get any cramps or nothing. now, every 28 days i get majorr cramps!

Well i had horrible cramps the day i started, i remember crying cause it hurt so bad, though i didnt know i had started. I came home, went to the loo then i seen the blood and started screaming, i thought i was dying lol, i was like daddy my bladder has burst. He told me to go in my mums room and get a pad lol, like so simple but now my cramps really hurt lol.

Let's see... it was Thanksgiving at my dad's house and I had convinced myself that it was because I wasn't drinking enough juice (no lie) and yeah... I guess the toliet over flowed and enough said there! Wow. That sucks.

My first period was a breeze. I was 10 and a half though. It came as quite a shock. I just saw a little bit of blood on my panties and asked my mom about it. And she told me it was my period. I was pretty sad because I knew I'd have to go through it for a long time. And smelly, nasty blood in your panties is not fun..

My doctor said I'm biologically 14.

Oh man, I have a really funny story about that. When I first got my period, my mom just told me to go in her "supplies" bag, take out a pad, and change my underwear and put it on. So, I took out what I thought was a pad. I was so disgusted with myself, and I was starting to get scared because I kept bleeding through the "pad". I finally told my mom. She marched into the bathroom, came back with her supplies bag, and laughed her head off as she explained the difference between a pad and a mini-pad. I had been using the small little paper-thin ones that you use as back-up for a tampon. Haha.

I was at school and I went to the toilets. Then I noticed the blood in my pants. I was freakin' scared. But luckily it was the end of the day and my mum was picking me up. I told her and she said "Aww my baby is growing up. I'll get you some pads". I didn't like it though.

The first time I got mine in was just light brownish-red splotches in my underwear. No cramps or anything. I had no clue what it was, it didn't look like blood, I thought it was some sort of discharge or w/e because I was still new to all that, so I didn't tell anyone. Then the next month all of a sudden I got major cramps & heavy flow. I was like, 'oh sh!t that's what it was last month?' Yeh. I kinda...freaked. haha

Then I became one of those girls. Cramps are so messed up...I have to lay in bed all day and cry, basically. one time I even threw up becuz the pain was so bad.

i think its a really nice feeling getting you first period...a kind of growing up feeling. it can be annoying but the hormones put you in a good mood.

I wore a pad the first day, and leaked....like a mongo. I haven't worn one since, tampons all the way. It was also at home, the day before thanksgiving(not jus last thanksgiving, about 3 years ago). I was going to the bathroom and then blood. I seriously was like "WTF?", I thought at first I cut myself then realized what it was. HAHA. I was only 11 though, .

ohh mann, mine sucked!! i was afraid to tell my mom. i didnt know how to tell her, so she juss found out. i got mine like a week after that "girl talk" class we had in 5th grade, so i had a pad with me already. and i would sit in the bathroom crying cuz i didnt know what to do it was terrible. lots of blood. no cramps, weird.

I got my first about five minutes before I had to board a plane to cross the Atlantic... if I hadn't gone to the bathroom and noticed when I did, I would have been totally screwed once airborne. As it was I was pretty calm, I just bought some pads and told my mom.

But it did feel like I was dying a very tedious death without medication with needles tumbling within me. And I think it would be compared to labor C:

I hated mine, I woke up and was bleeding and freaked out because I didn't know what the f**k was wrong with me, until I fully woke up and started thinking.

Then of course I didn't tell anyone and I stole a pad, and never again did I wear pads.

I don't remember how the actual period was, as far as flow goes. But I remember the night before my cramps were so bad I actually puked in my Mom's room. I thought I was just getting sick or something. Then when I woke up the next morning I realized what was going on of course. Those first couple of years the cramps were always bad like that. But that was the only time I puked from it.

im such a newbie to it, too. my first one just ended 3 weeks ago. and my mom said its going to come back again soon. its like, nooooo! not living hell AGAIN! It was my first time and.

I had terrible cramps.

I thought it was from running around then nibbling on some food and running around again, so I stopped eating.

overall my first period was light and easy

the sucky part was it started for the firts time (i was starting 9th grade, summer) and i started at BAND CAMP
90 degree weather marching constantly and not sure was my body would do to me (cramps, periiod stuff) freaked me out and made me feel shitty and uncomfortable the whole week

my mum was freaking out, but my sister helped (finding pads from other people since i didn't pack any)me since she started the month before me ^____^

cramps and pads do not go well with 90 degree weather while marching for three hours= started a good time for me to say "one time at band camp"
