Howard Stern interviewed two Playmates of the Month (Playboy magazine), Julie Cialini (1995) and Stacy Sanches (1996). Howard asked a few questions to test the girls' grasp of current affairs.

Note: This test was taken in 1997.

Q: Who is the President of Russia?
Julie: Gorbachev.
Stacy: Gretzky.
Answer: Boris Yeltsin.

Q: What is the center of our solar system?
Julie: The equator.
Stacy: The moon.
Answer: The sun.

Q: Define NAACP.
Julie: Something, something, something, for Certified Pianists.
Stacy: It's some kind of police organization.
Answer: National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

Q: Who invented the lightbulb?
Julie: I know Thomas Edison invented the telephone, but I forgot the lightbulb guy.
Stacy: I don't know.
Answer: Thomas Edison. Alexander Graham Bell was the telephone guy.

Q: Who is the Speaker of the House?
Julie: Gore....or something-or-other.
Stacy: Bill Clinton.
Answer: Newt Gingrich.

Q: Define CIA.
Julie: I don't know.
Stacy: Certified Investigation Association.
Answer: Central Intelligence Agency.

To give the girls better odds, Howard tried a few "industry-related" questions.

Q: What's do the initials DK stand for?
Both knew it was Donna Karan.

Q:
What car company has a model known as "911"?
Both knew it was a Porsche.

Q: Who is on the $100 bill?
Both knew it was Benjamin Franklin.

Unfortunately, that's probably not limited to just Playboy Playmates--I'm guessing most Americans would get those questions wrong. There are a significant number of Americans who don't even know how many states are in the Union.

I bet most people wouldn't know the answers either. Like on the Tonight Show, when Jay does "Jay-Walking" a lotta people don't know the answers to even the simplest questions.

Which is sad, I admit. So do any of the people here actually know the answers? (Without looking at them.)

^ Jaywalking has plenty of good examples of people who have no clue what's going on in the world.

It's even more pitiful that the playmates fit the hot dumb girl stereotype.

EDIT: I knew everything except for the one about the Porsche. _smile.gif

Yes, it's sad.
But it might not be their stupidity.
They just don't know the answer.

the thing is, most of us probably know the answers because we're still in school and we're exposed to that kind of stuff. the playmates are exposed to fast cars and fashion, they're not in school anymore so they wouldn't be thinking about that.

^ Agreed.
And, most Americans aren't exposed to all educational stuff either. Thats probably why many of them wouldn't know the answers to these questions.
