Is playing the piano a sport than? There's piano competitions where you go against other players.

Art, not a sport.

This is a pretty stupid debate, but it's funny as hell how antagonistic people are against chess players. It's as if you guys got picked on by the chess club back in middle school or something.

THIS is my kind of sport:

If you can play it while sitting down, it isn't a sport, and you are not an athlete.

MAYBE... but we are talking about chess here

let me explain what I was saying for people like you ^

Its completely a competitive activity second it takse the same physical and mental disciplines that any sport needs such as mental discipline, self confidence, endurance, pressure... thats all needed for ANY chess player to succeed (a professional one anyway).

BUT thinking about it maybe I change my answer and consider it not to be a sport because now that I have put more thought into it if you do consider chess a sport counting all that I just said then YOUR right that could be any game or activity.
