Yeah. There's no way I could have waited that long. I'm waiting for the Blu-Ray of season 2 to drop a little before purchasing it. Fortunately Comcast has several episodes of season 2 in their video on demand selection.

Pretty excited about season 3. It's been confirmed that there will be much Eric, which makes me much happy. heh

How does the first season compare to the later ones? I have no interest in the current trend of vampires and other supernatural creatures on TV/in movies, but I might give this a try if it's good enough. I need something else to watch beside Gossip Girl and Castle.

Honestly, I think True Blood is far superior to any vampire, hell, any supernatural series out there. It's not for the weak though - plenty of violence, sex and gore to go around. This is an Alan Ball series and he isn't shy about these things.

My personal opinion? Season two was every bit as fantastic as season one. Of course, I'm very pro-Erik and he has more of a presence in season two (he'll be even more around in season three).

I'm in the middle of re-watching Season 2. I bought the blu-ray and it came with a free Amazon On-Demand rental (my blu-ray player streams Amazon VOD), so it's been awesome.

I am loving the season 3 promos. Lots of Erik. And then, there's more Erik followed by even more Erik. And wolves.

I've never even heard of him, but I've probably seen one of his productions and didn't know; I'll IMDB him later. Thanks for your input, and for Melissa's as well.

It's not exactly like the book (they have said it themselves), but I have never read the books so I don't know how they are interpreting the characters as far as if they are doing a good job or not, but it is one hell of a good show. It's only one of 2 shows I fallow (the other being house lol)

Ah, you know, I'd more or less consider the books a basic architecture of the series. That being said, I think that the series stays true (no pun intended) to the spirit of the books and the detours that the show takes from the books have been nothing short of excellent so far.
