so it's just a little over a month until dan brown's next book comes out, 9.15.2009. i'm pretty excited for this. i've been waiting for a new book for a couple years since i finished his other four. i'm also pretty excited that this one is a robert langdon one. i liked Deception Point and Digital Fortress, but not as much as the others with langdon in them.

anyway who's looking forward to this?

Ugh, Dan Brown. I can't stand to read Dan Brown's books, because his writing, from a style standpoint, is just terrible. It sounds bad and it's full of clichés and I can't stand it. And from a technical standpoint (disclaimer: I have a degree in computer science), Digital Fortress was horrid.

Digital Fortress was the worst of the four books by a long shot. i like the pace of the books though. i like wanting to know what's gonna happen next.

ANYWAYS, I don't like to read..........

but my mother does! And she likes to read Dan Brown, so I will definitely tell her about this one.

I hope they make more movies. I liked them so far (davinci + angels and demons)

They're fantastic. LOVED the twist at the end of a+d. fantastic. bravo.

Dan Brown's good at pacing, I'll give him that.

Granted, I really loved Dan Brown books -- when I was in sixth grade. I saw someone looking through the Da Vinci Code at my local bookstore, going "This is the book! All excitedly." So I went through it a bit, and I liked it.

But it wasn't until about 6 years later when I realize how much I actually detest his writing. I am much more appreciative of a writer's writing and a writer's ideas now than I am of a writer's story. Brown has good pace, he has good plot, but not so great ideas, not so great style.
