just the ones that popped up when i searched for that one. i do fancy the one above quite a bit. i didn't pay much attention to any of the others. i don't care much for the one with Blomkvist gripping a topless Salander. the ones from the foreign films look mediocre.

i don't mind that poster but i don't think it should have gotten that much controversy.

did you guys read rooney mara's interview in vogue? at first i wasn't sure about their choice for salander but i think i've changed my mind. link

I like the original better. The real lisbeth was way better looking :/ this one just looks weird.

^ Are you talking about the original poster or the original actress? Because if you mean the actress, it's not like Lisbeth's supposed to be good looking or anything...

I thought Noomi Rapace did an amazing job in the Swedish film, but Rooney Mara is a wonderful actress and she'll do an equally good (if not better) job with the role. In terms of looks, I love that Lisbeth is a little bit more extreme with the hair and thinness this time around.

i think she's perfect for the role as far as looks go. i can see Salander in her eyes. she made a remarkable, physical character transformation which is always a plus for me.

The original Lisbeth just looks better, more badass, ... I don't know; I guess I'm biased since I watched all three of the Swedish ones and loved them to bits.. and so I don't like how they're making an American version with different people :(

Well you can't really compare the two pictures because the one of Rooney Mara is of her at a public event as herself, as opposed to in character like the one of Noomi Rapace. That's like comparing Hugh Jackman the Broadway star to Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

And again, Lisbeth wasn't described as good looking in the books. And if you just meant in terms of badassery, I think Rooney looks pretty f*cking badass here:

longest trailer ever.

i feel like this film is going to stay true to the book so well. they revealed too much in this trailer though. i realized i like the first trailer that was released because it was like an exclusive showing in a secret language that only the readers know. it was as if it were saying "read the book or gtfo," with it's mere glances of scenes.

i'm excited to see this version. i watched the swedish version and LOVED it. they stayed really close to the book and the ending was EXACTLY how i wanted the book to end. no garbage 100 pages of mikael typing a book.

I'll be honest, I saw the original and I absolutely loved it,
but I'm not interested in watching the American version only because
America (and I'm talking about my own country here) is terrible when
it comes to remakes. And that's really all I have to say.

Every review I have watched/read about it has said that the movie was great... until it got to the ending; the ending was horrible & killed the movie (apparently--I haven't seen the remake yet).

So I'm already disappointed without having even seen it.

Watched both back to back. Liked the american one just a tad bit more than the Swedish one.

I think it's fairly stupid to judge a movie just on the fact that it's a remake.

or to compare the two actresses on just appearance and not the acting. didn't think looks would even be an issue cuz i nvr imagined her character to be typical standard beauty from the books.

but i thought they both embodied lisbeth well.

I've heard from a few that they liked the Swedish version better, but I've also heard they're both relatively the same. I should check that out.

The opening credits were pretty wicked too! I thought the actress was perfect, In my opinion. Also lots of young kids were there and their mums covered their eyes for a lot of the scenes lol.

I loved the movie. They stayed pretty darn true to the book ( until the end of course). I didn't care for the change but i see why they did it. Most of the actors were perfect for their parts ( Martin, Erika, Armansky, and Bjurman specially). The actresses who played Cecilia and Anita should have switched roles. I can hardly wait until dvd comes out.

My parents watched the Swedish one and said it was really good. I heard that the Swedish one goes more with the story than the American one, but the American version has better graphics I guess.
