Forums _ Debate _ Believe that we are at fault?

Today in my English class, we were discussing the history of Africa. How Africans were actually very populated before the slave-trade started. Since the western Europeans invaded and split up Africa and took all the population, do you guys believe that this is why Africa is very poor and having so much problems, like political problems? That because of the Western Europeans and us Americans for the slave-trades and stealing the population Africa is poor. Study shows from articles we read in class that if we left Africa populated they would be a growing country like us or at least close to us. They would have a political party and food to eat.

We were also discussing how because of us or the British, whichever, we separated and invaded the Middle East. How the British separated India and Pakistan, and how we separated Israel and the Palestine. There is much problems in the middle east due to us doing wrong to them in the past. The Hindus and Muslims kill each other in India and Pakistan. There is also killing and conflicts of the Israelis and Palestinians.

Do you guys believe that if those countries such as the British and Americans or Europeans didn't invade and divided these areas, we wouldn't have much problems now? Like if it would be different than how it is around the world today?

I don't know, black people in America have it pretty good

They don't have much to eat because the land isn't all that fertile over there, you can't blame that on us

I agree, the land isn't fertile, but I still don't see how that would stop them from being as educated as other countries..

I do think it greatly damaged their development as a land.
