well, how does that sound?

tbh, i don't think it would be good. parts of the third movie was already quite forced. however, if it does come out i don't think i can not watch.

i'm really surprised that the second and third pirates of the caribbean movies haven't been mentioned! the second one was terrible.

that was from the worst movie thread. ahh, i can't get over how bad the last two were. this one is going to suck too.

Posted by: IWontRapeYou Sep 26 2009, 12:45 PM

I thought the second one was bad, but I always hate movies that endings like that. The third one was ok to me. I was really hoping they were making a 4th, so I will for sure watch this.

Posted by: karmakiller Sep 26 2009, 02:32 PM

I never saw the third one, but I did somehow manage to sit through almost all of the second one (piece of crap). Didn't they pretty much sum everything up in the third one?

Posted by: IWontRapeYou Sep 26 2009, 02:53 PM

The third one ended what the second on started, but still had a ending where they could easily make a sequel if they wanted to. Jack had a map that could lead him to a fountain of youth, and Will is the captain of Davey Jones ship so he can't talk to his bitch anymore.

Only watching if Orlando is in it.

Posted by: goth-nina Sep 29 2009, 12:23 PM

Ugh, enough with these terrible sequels. I only liked Dead Man's Chest.

i have been reading about 'Pirates 4' and articles have been saying that by the next Pirates movie after this one, Johnny depp will NO LONGER be in the trilogy...

QUOTE
September 28, 2009 - Johnny Depp recently made it known that he'd suddenly become very disenchanted with reprising his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, the fourth film in Disney's blockbuster franchise which is slated for a 2011 release. Now it appears that Depp's disinterest may go beyond just the next installment.

A "regular tipster" for Latino Review claims that "even if (Depp) makes the fourth film, he definitely won't be back for a fifth or sixth. Given that the Pirates franchise was the only live-action property making any money for the studio, they could reach deep in their pockets and keep Depp on for #4, but they're also preparing to replace Captain Jack with a entirely new character if he refuses a fifth and sixth film." If true, might it be the oft-rumored Russell Brand as Captain Jack's brother Jonathan?

Depp's sudden loss of enthusiasm for Pirates 4, a project that he'd thus far been a cheerleader for, stems from the unexpected departure (some claim firing) of Dick Cook, the longtime chairman of The Walt Disney Studios, from his post a few weeks ago. In an interview with The Los Angeles Times, Depp said he was "shocked and very sad" about Cook's abrupt exit from the studio and credited him for standing by him when other Disney execs balked at his offbeat portrayal of Jack Sparrow during the making of the first Pirates movie. He also spoke of his close personal friendship with Cook, deeming him "the sweetest man on the planet and such a gent."

The Times reported that "Depp said while he has a potential deal in place [for Pirates 4] that will depend on how good the script is, his passion for the project at the moment has been severely dampened by the news that Cook will no longer be around."

"There's a fissure, a crack in my enthusiasm at the moment," the Oscar-nominated actor told the paper. "It was all born in (Cook's) office."

bumping old thread.

as much as i like johnny depp, i think this movie will be one of those useless sequels that ruins the original series. i mean it's like a jack sparrow chronicles and it's a bit too much now. i don't know, maybe i'll still end up downloading it.

Posted by: BlueHeroBH Aug 10 2010, 11:33 AM

I personally like all three movies. As for the fourth movie, I hope it's good. Since Will is now going to live forever, it would have been nice if Keira came back to make use of her character, I mean Elizabeth would want to live forever too, to be with Will right? But it can't be helped if she doesn't want to come back. It still might be good. If the movie does well it's supposed to be the start to a second trilogy.

I hate when they make sequels that don't have anything to carry on from the last movie...if that makes sense. They tied everything up in the third one, and that movie was so bad that I lost interest in the whole series.

Yeah I agree. Although I'm sort of excited to see what Penelope Cruz will do in this movie. Blow all over again? Yes pls.

I've only seen the first and the second film, but anything without those two is an improvement.
