QUOTE(linke3 @ Sep 19 2004, 4:43 PM) yeah, i've read the da vinci code. i thought it was a great book, contrary to what my english teacher thinks... Well, your English teacher is very right. It is entertaining, but it's crap literature. |

I read it. I thought it was pretty good.
I did find it weird that like one chapter was about three or even two pages. I disagree with some of the things mentioned in the book, though. |

you need to read angels and demons to get it in the first place... and second of all dan brown gets some real life facts and puts it into a fiction book... so yep and it was a great book =P

I'm reading it right now. I think it's one of the best books ever. I'm no puzzle solver myself (slow with that kind of stuff), but it's very interesting.

its quite entertaiining. i found myself actually liking reading wen i was reading that thing. but the ending totally ruins the whole book. i wish i would have stopped reading before the ending and just apprecciate how good the book was. but no, i had to read it and b disappointed.

I loved it. And I don't think ending was a disappointment at all.
But I do think Angels & Demons is a much better book. |

many people dont like this book because of the religious concepts of it
but i dont read for religious reasons i read for entertainment and enlightenment i thought the book was very good and gripping so stick with it YES angels and demons i think was amazing! i wish i could say why but i dont want to ruin it (...very creative with a fate of four certain peoples... =X) |

I LOVED The DaVinci Code.
I'm not sure if the stuff in the book was actually true or not. |

I do agree you need a lot of aptience for that book because it can be rather confusing. But it was a good read. |

My dad absolutely loved it. He finished it in like a day or two. I haven't read it, but we have the book so maybe I should start reading. Might be a bit hard to understand though

I loved it, i'm christian too and i still loved it. I guess people would then say im not a proper christian, but it's fiction i don't see what the big deal was. If we know its fiction why did like a million people have to go out and write books saying that its not true.. it just gives more attention to it.
The smarter thing to have done was too ignore it. It's still a cool book :) Makes you think loads! But believe what you want. People have the right to their own opinions :) |

QUOTE(Surfs_in_Cali @ Sep 27 2004, 10:19 PM) UGH...I'm still pissed...I thought I liked it until I found out it a lot of it wasn't even true!...READ FOR YOURSELF! ...DA VINCI CODE IS WRONG! That's why you'll probably find it in the "Fiction" section of the library. It's not WRONG, it's MADE UP. |

OK the book itself is fictional, but the concept behind it is not. Although many people say that jesus wasnt married and stayed a virgin 'til his death that is not the case. Jesus was a JEWISH man of age 30-33 and in those days, a jewish man had to marry or will be the disgrace of the city/village/town/etc, So my theory is, If Jesus wasnt married than he had a girlfriend or was gay-which I doubt. And although the author says that in the painting of the last supper, DaVinci paints mary magdaline at his side, that was infact the youngest apostle john which when painted or described, always seemed to have long hair and a girlish face to emphasize his age and his purity- since women were regarded as pure and the face of the madonna.
