years of shitposting and trolling had nothing to do with it. social media changed and this website didn't change with it. the website's creator abandoned it and it's only gotten less popular since.
forums in general aren't as popular as they used to be either. reddit and facebook groups have effectively replaced them. |

CB, you ought to refocus your efforts into designing and coding shopping carts for aspiring entrepreneurs. There's still a lot of value to be mined - you all just have to be willing to find the "new" right tools for the job.
Get rid of the unnecessary boards. Downsize. Like delete the lifestyle and interest boards and get them to post in the Off-topic chat. Within the off-topic subboard, encourage "general threads" for fandoms and other interests, that you can minimize the amount of threads and instead potentially increasing the value that one gets per thread as it becomes one long "mega-thread" (value increases because information is centralized in one easy to find place and encourages others to post in a continuous and evolving megathread thread) Find new mods and encourage them only to prune threads, rather than involving themselves in the matters and drama of others. Enforce only OPSEC and matters that could jeopardize the freedom of another member. Of course if noone wants to do it, someone will have to buy it and do it themselves. Anyone want to go halfsies on buying CB? I think there's still value here. |

dass what i'm saying but administration is dead and whoever owns the site (is it still jusun?) has probably moved on to bigger and better things.
that's why i propose that we should buy the site. |

it's presumably still jusun, I can't imagine buying a site like this and then not doing anything with it.
I imagine this website is hosted on the same server as one of his other websites (though the only other one I know is jusunlee.com which hasn't been updated since 2004 and his forum hasn't had any new posts since 2011) but god knows how much longer he has this domain leased for. if it were me I would have stopped renewing in 2011 or 2012 edit: I just looked it up and the domain is only registered through to the beginning of 2017 |

I was randomly thinking about CB today and decided to pop in. Surprised to see that it's still here!
I owe the Createblog community for piquing my interest in web design and coding and giving me an outlet to explore my creativity and skills. It was a pleasure getting to know many of you. Oh, why do I continue to come here? TBH, I log on to createBlog about once or twice a year. I know that in the back of my mind I want it to miraculously be active again. I also acknowledge the fact that I find comfort in logging on. It brings me back to a safe place. createBlog and the community that populated it were such a big part of my life during middle school and the beginning of high school. For once in my life I was able to really be me. During those awkward years, my friends on cB were the only friends I knew. I was well known on these boards for a while and I was not used to popularity in real life at the time. I thoroughly enjoyed being on People Staff and was honored when Kim announced me as Head Staff upon her abrupt departure.
Even while writing this I have no idea who's going to see it or respond to it. I think the latest post on the entire board was back in 2016. I just enjoy logging on and gushing about how much this site meant to me. I miss you all very much. On Facebook, search for: heyyfrankie@gmail.com @heyyfrankie ✌🏻 |

i was on here with no real aim; thinking back, i'm sure i was drawn to the possibility of connecting with many different and interesting people, most of which seemed to share similar interests to mine. and i don't think that was as accessible for me at such a young age and/or in the small town that i lived in. i'm graduating college this year with a bachelor's in fine arts and i often still refer to cb for my relative history and early inspirations for graphic/web design.
ultimately, i've accepted this site may never see its opportunity to thrive again and will become another forgotten remnant of the internet. until then, though, i'll check every once in a while from some odd sense of gratitude or affiliation of sorts; i do enjoy reading up on everyone's sentiments, it makes me think about the changes we've all undergone throughout the years.. here's to more growth, more experience, more life. take care of yourselves. |

I have such fond memories of CreateBlog. I think about CB often. It was such a fun, open community and I learned so much from here. I took a different career path (science), but I still get to use my photoshop skills every now and then! I use Reddit just to have that sense of community that CB had, but it doesn't even come close. I miss forums. I hope everyone is doing well! I just wanted to log in and take a look around. It's crazy to see what an impact CB made on so many of us. 14 years later and I still think about it.
