I was about to buy a macbook but might hold out if they're launching a new lineup soon. I forgot when they release their shit, after the mac expo? just suspicious since iphone 4 is coming out

I just bought a new MacBook Pro; they were just updated in April, so they won't be updated for a while. MacBooks were just updated in May, so it'll be a while before they see an update.

(I'm getting a Macbook Pro 15" i7, so I guess if they're not going to update for a while, I'm gonna go on with it.)

Yeah, usually I'd wait (actually I've been waiting for like a year, waiting until I really needed it), but I'm going to need a laptop for my travels this summer, so I'm also considering opportunity cost.

MacBook Pros just got their really big update (new Intel i7 chips), so even if they get updated in the next 3-4 months (doubt they will) it won't be a major upgrade -- maybe a slightly bigger hard drive or more RAM.

I just need something that can handle my photography, can't wait any longer.

Dunno if this is your field of immense knowledge, but what might you recommend for monitors though? I'm going to need a better monitor eventually, can't be be doing graphic intensive work on a laptop screen forever.

At my last job, I just used a Dell flatscreen LCD, which was cheap and worked pretty well. If you could pick up an LED display for the right price, that would be totally awesome.

Apple's own LCDs are nice, but really expensive.
