3. What is the difference between manipulative advertising and semi-subliminal advertising?

1. What is subliminal messaging? Hidden messages that attempt to reach into the subconscious of the mind.
2. Who was the first to use a subliminal messaging technique? I read this in my psychology book last semester but I forgot. I want to say the government tested it out but they felt they weren't effective.
3. What is the difference between manipulative advertising and semi-subliminal advertising? Hrm, manipulative advertising is when the advertisement is manipulated into something else, conveying a different message. Such as using "sex" to sell things. Herbal Essences. Girl is washing her hair screaming, "Yes, yes, yesss!!" Semi-subliminal advertising is when the advertisement tries to get into your subconscious by adding something that shouldn't really be there, hoping that maybe you didn't catch it but your subconscious did so later on, you may act on the message. For example, Fox News once randomly put in a picture of McCain & wife in the background of a transition to their anchors.

I'm not gonna lie, I really went out on a limb on that last question. Hope you do well on your project!
