I've never read a single book that make me cry like a little girl... until a short while ago when I read The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards. I cried and cried multiple times. It's about a doctor who, having to deliver his own babies, sends away his daughter with Down Syndrome while keeping his normal son, in order to protect his family from grief and sadness. It sounds lame but it is a touching story. I guess I'm an optimistic person when it comes to books and I hope for a picture-perfect happy ending but when this book didn't provide one, I cried even more. I highly recommend it.

i don't know why but i have a hard time rereading books. i tried to reread OotP before the movie came out but i just couldn't get through it. I've read the first four books at least seven(?) times each, the fifth book twice, and the sixth one either once or twice. The last book is the only book I didn't reread. |
