i'm going f*cking insane right now.

my ear has been popping non stop when i move my jaw, talk, chew, yawn, open my mouth in general. it's not wax, i've all but drowned myself in hot water trying to melt wax out of my ear. i duno i think it's something on the inside of my ear. i've been trying to take allergy medicine thinking that will help but it hasn't so far...

suggestions!?!?!?!?!???

my problem is usually that i need to pop my ear and can't, but this is the opposite.

maybe you should take a drill to your eardrums. desperate times call for desperate measures.

go to your doctor. it might not be an ear infection, but maybe there are still left over water in your ear? i have the same problem too. i used to wear ear plugs to help prevent it

Any ringing (tinnitus), pressure or pain? It could range from ear infection to upper respiratory infection. I would suggest an antihistamine but you said that allergy medicine wasn't working.

Is your jaw clicking? Because that's an entirely different situation and gum is the last thing you want to be chewing if that's the case.

yeah i'm taking allergy medicine but it's not doing anything. i washed out my sinuses with this weird water pot thing filled with saline solution. it didn't fix my ear, although it made me feel better in general so i'm gonna keep doing it and maybe it will fix my ear after a few more tries? idk

and yes! i'm moving my jaw...or something. i'm moving something in my jaw/throat. i move my jaw but it feels like it's actually doing something in my throat. my throat is sore now from moving my jaw. i can't stop. it's like a reflex that's happening to me now.

i've always been able to pop my ear whenever i wanted, without yawning/chewing gum, etc. i can just move my jaw muscle or something back there and it pops. but now i can't quit doing that.

this clicking/popping of my ear doesn't hurt in itself. it hurts because i spend the entire day doing this non stop. right now my ear feels worn out, pressure, hurts inside, etc.

this happened to me when i had bronchitis and blocked sinuses. i think blocked sinuses can cause ear popping. maybe you can try and clear your sinuses.

googled link: http://searchwarp.com/swa149901.htm

1. Increase humidity
2. Nasal irrigation
3. Warm compress
4. Eucalyptus or menthol

Yeah, I strongly suggest that you see a doctor (ENT), especially since the etiology is unclear. It could be something minor, but it could be in infection and that's not something you want to leave untreated, especially if you're experiencing any dizziness.
