Personally I don't see how they can portray such an awesome book into a movie. Should be interesting to see what they make of it. Book will always be better in my eyes.

I have the most disapproval for Rosalie's character. I'm not too happy with some of the others, but they show some potential. The guy who plays Jasper looks a lot better here than in the promo.

And I do believe they've also cast Emmett and Jacob.

I'm picking up Twilight this weekend if Target has it or I'm biting the bullet and getting it on Amazon.

I think the guy that plays Cedric looks good, but then again, haven't read the book so of course I'm not as critical of casting choices.

The hell is up with Eva from Grey's Anatomy doing in this movie though? She looks like an alien.

I'm STILL crying over Gaspard. As soon as I'd seen a picture of him he was the perfect Edward throughout all three books so far. WHY CEDRIC DIGGORY?!

Anyway, I think they chose a pretty good Bella, and Alice as well. The perfect James, I must say. Is there any news on Jacob? I'm dying to know!

I'm not very familiar with any of the actors... But Robert Pattison did a good job as Cedric without having much acting experience at all, so hopefully he'll do Edward justice.

I think Eva Green should have been Victoria.

haha. Thanks! Yeah, I was cruising through Livejournals last night. There's a couple of really good Twilight based communities that I thoroughly enjoyed reading through. On a side note, I'm starting to like LJ more and more. I definitely need to concentrate some efforts on my LJ and contributing to communities there more often.

Jasper is definitely a cutie. Strange hair, but definitely good looking.

Goodness, I don't think Shane West is at all what I would imagine. Seriously, I really do think that Rob P is a fantastic choice in the role. I think some people might be caught up in him being "Cedric Diggory", which is entirely unfair. In fact, last night I was watching some interviews of his and he said that he hated that character, because that type is someone he would have hated in high school. Something like that.

Anyway, there's some clips on youtube showing him in roles that represented a more broody type. Very convincing stuff. And to me, he has a very unique beauty. He's a hot guy, for sure, but he's also pretty, which is something similar I think of when I think of Edward (which is far too much lately. ;)) XD

I was reading through some fan reactions, not just here, but in several places that talks about Gaspard Ulliel. Without doubt, he probably has the majority of fan votes for the role. I don't see it. I think he has a look that could fit, but there's a depth missing that I think Rob P has.

I don't think I will get over Robert Pattison until I see the movie. Even in photos that he seems decently attractive I still feel he is completely wrong for the role... but hopefully when I see how they make him up, my opinion will change. But that kind of bothers me because then I feel like the only way he can even come close to being Edward is after he is "made up" Sigh.

I finished New Moon last night (yes, I read the entire thing last night) and JACOB IS CAST TOO YOUNG. The hell? How is that even going to work?! Is he a werewolf in real life? Will he get all muscular by the next film (assuming they make another, which they BETTER do)? I've started Eclipse and the whole time I'm thinking... uh... how will that work with that actor? I'm in Lion&Lamb (lion_lamb), which is my favorite and twilight_film, which is also great. I think that people crosspost a bit, but with the overwhelming amount of icon posts lately (thanks to all the wonderful set pictures Amy Howe took), I could be confusing people.

I sympathize with you though, regarding Gaspard. I know once I set my mind on something, especially when it comes to particular person in a particular role, it's next to impossible to wrap my mind around someone different.

Well at the very beginning when Jacob's brought into the story he does seem really young and you'd never guess that him and Bella would end up in love... (<- does this have to be censored?) So at the moment, I think the actor fits.

I've had a hard time adjusting but that's ONLY because I was in the middle of New Moon when I saw that he was cast. Then my reaction was worse after Eclipse. I thinking... Bella kisses this kid? She's in anguish over this kid? But, this kid IS the Jacob in Twilight (which I've read three times already, thank you very much lol).

I've re-read New Moon and Eclipse as well.

So yeah, Twilight, this kid is Jacob. Jacob's this kid with a cute crush on Bella. I can see him giggling, responding in his cute little voice when Bella does her wicked (albeit dorky) female flirting with him.

I never read Twilight, and it seems a lot of people love the book. It seems interesting, so I guess I'll watch the movie when it comes out.

Robert Pattinson seems like a definite fit and look for a "vampire". Regardless of the physical/mental traits of Edward Cullen since I never read the book. xD

I have no idea why people always freak out when a book turns into a movie/show. There's nothing to expect most of the time because everyone knows in movies/shows that it's going to change somehow in a certain aspect... You can't always expect every single detail that is exactly like the book for the movie. It may be hard to find a certain person for a role due to the physical/mental appearance or somewhat for a character in a book.

Even though I'm relatively new to the fandom, I've read them all (multiple times).

Have you seen some of the pictures that have surfaced? Rob Pattinson actually looks FAR better than that Gaspard guy does AND he's a much better actor. Forget about Harry Potter, put Cedric Diggory behind you.

*shrug I guess there will always be differing opinions, but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised once the film comes out.

i wasn't too worried about Pattison in the beginning. i already knew most of the actors they chose have been, like, cut out for these roles, most just don't fit what a lot of people were expecting.

Seriously. LOOK AT HIM. His smile is completely lopsided, I know just in that picture but in a lot of the other pictures it is as well. And he is pale, has an attractive face, and doesn't look like a dweeb from Harry Potter.

He is like, perfect for the role. In a lot of peoples opinions, his facial features are the closest human match to the descriptions of Edward in the books.

i'm sorry, i still can't see Edward in what's-his-face that everybody is so in love with! at first, i was almost sure Henry Cavill would get the part...
i'm reading Twilight right now, again. i definitely like the cast now, even though Jasper's hair still kinda gets me, i keep imagining it in the most crucial moments in the book and i'm like "NOOOOOO! my poor Jasper."

There are a few things throwing me off, but I have to remind myself that film adaptations are just that, adaptations. Overall, I think it's going to be fantastic and I am SO excited, both for Breaking Dawn being released in a few months and for the film in December. In fact, I have already requested a half day off December 12. xD

I'm a very glad to see Jasper looking so hot. hahaha

right now, i couldn't care less about the adaptions. Jasper's hair looked a bit more normal in the video, and Edward looked way better than his pictures. i'm so pumped about this movie, and the fact that Kristen (my favorite actorrr!) is playing Bella just makes it all more perfect.
but that damn Volvo...stupid freakin morons, changing the damn model.

It can be a challenge to not nitpick. For example, Alice's hair. How much of an effort would it have been to dye it black? But alas, I'm so thrilled that they're making the film that I can move on from those tiniest of complaints (if it's even strong enough to be considered a "complaint.)

The initial promos Summit did was just to show people everyone together. That wig Jasper had was ghastly. lol So yes, I'm pleased as can be that he looks very good now. Also, he seems to have good chemistry with Alice, which is awesome. I mean, he had his arm around her (sort of) the entire time. I like seeing that type of camaraderie between cast mates.
