I've never read a single book that make me cry like a little girl... until a short while ago when I read The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards. I cried and cried multiple times. It's about a doctor who, having to deliver his own babies, sends away his daughter with Down Syndrome while keeping his normal son, in order to protect his family from grief and sadness. It sounds lame but it is a touching story. I guess I'm an optimistic person when it comes to books and I hope for a picture-perfect happy ending but when this book didn't provide one, I cried even more. I highly recommend it.

What about you?

Wow, JC, LOL.

I don't think I've ever read any book that's made me cry.. I think I actually read pretty happy books, or I just have no emotions when I read, lol.

Hedwig and Fred definitely didn't need to die. If Rowling was going to kill one of the Weasleys off, it should have been Percy, since he's such a jerk to his family.

i do not remember this. there were only 3 major deaths that i cared about in the Harry Potter series. only one upset me but i didn't cry. i teared up. i don't think any other books have brought me to tears.

I've read the first four books at least seven(?) times each, the fifth book twice, and the sixth one either once or twice. The last book is the only book I didn't reread.

So true though. I cried when Sirius died.

The dog part in The Lovely Bones made me cry.
I cried when I read A Million Little Pieces too.

Sirius :( I had really wanted Sirius and Harry to live together so they'd have each other as family, but no, he has to die so early in the series.
