Internet forums aren't what they used to be. Social media has taken over and nearly everything is instant, thus making forums a bit of a relic. However, there are forums that remain popular.
How can we get more people to cB? Any ideas? |

I believe we have comes to terms with the fact the CB is on it's last heartbeat, and that the only way to really salvage would be to create a new forum that, wile not a replica, is still in the same vein.
CB itself is too spam ridden and old for people to really want to join. I doubt it could be revived even if Jusun came back. |

I agree with Abbey, cb is on it's brink of death. And I wish we could still get more people here, syre social networks have taken over, but I love forums. I dont think it would be a bad idea to somehow move it somewhere.

when most of the life on a forum is talking about bringing it back, it's too late to keep it in it's current state.
creating a new forum that's only similar in it's community is pretty much the only way to bring it back. |

I don't see how creating a new forum would be any better than trying to revive the current one?
Here's an idea; utilize the resources you already have which can cause a sort of guerilla marketing campaign. What's hot right now? Make use of that. Reach out to member who are popular outside of the forum. This will create traffic. |

well this forum was always primarily a skins/layout site, but i mean... who really uses myspace or xanga anymore? also, people on tumblr, livejournal, blogger, or people who have their own websites all have other resources. the problem with cb is that what it offers and its design forum is out of date, which is what i think brought people here in the first place. they find forums like cb because they're googling for layouts or html/photoshop/coding/etc help, THEN they find the general forum, post once or twice, and maybe stick around for a little bit.
the only way to really revive cb is to reboot that, but it's hard because most of the designers here are gone and there are so many other resources now that people can use. |

I don't see how creating a new forum would be any better than trying to revive the current one? We would have more control over a new forum. Right now the only thing keeping the spam restricted to the feedback area is the fact that you now have to PM a mod to be put into the "human" group so you can post. And I know I wouldn't join a forum that made me do that. Jusun gave us nothing to work with so now the site decays. I want CB to be active again, and I don't think that the downfall of myspace/ect. was the sole or even major reason CB is dying. I think we could have easily ditched the myspace section, and focused on layout templates. But more importantly made it to where you joined for the community/forums not for the graphics/layouts. CB had a good mixture of people who knew what the f*ck they were doing, and people who were completely incompetent but might of had some kind of potential. But right now, CB is in no condition to attract members. |

I don't believe it can be revived, but...
Y'all need people who start & foster conversation. There needs to be people who create topics and there was only ever a few of us who did that consistently and in mass volume. |

:( Sorry for being MIA too guys ... since Myspace is no longer popular, there is no point in making layouts.
CB was my high school treasure. |
