I'm going to pull out my wallet right now and tell you what's in it.

2x 1 USD bill
1x 5 CAD bill (I'm richer in fucking Canada than in the US)
2x receipts because I'm poor and putting twix bars on my credit card
1x drivers license
1x credit card, which I should probably stop using to buy those twix bars, because I'm probably already not going to be able to pay the bill.

That's all the money I have. And you're spending $600 on software that's virtually the same as the previous version (that I'm pretty sure you already have), and you just bought a Mac. Where do you get all this money?

I paid $150 for the 4870. I think my monitor not responding though is telling me that my mobo is too old :[ I was hoping it wasn't so. Looks like I'll be upgrading that tomorrow.

Yeah. I'm just going to have to put in my old video card so I can install windows / drivers for the 4870 since my motherboard doesn't want to let me hook the monitor up to it.

Good luck installing those drivers with an incompatible card in the system. Enjoy your BSoD

What kind of monitor are you hooking the card up too. I have had trouble while connecting new cards to my Samsung HDTV before the drivers where installed. My computer would repeatedly blue screen while attempting load the XP default driver. Try a standard vga monitor before upgrading your mobo. As long as you have a PCIe x16 interface and enough juice from your PSU you should be able to use that card. Even if you're running off a v1.0 PCIe x16 interface.
