I've been in a heated argument for the past half hour about relationships with disabled people.
I'm not talking like a vegetable or anything, but if for example someone lost their legs in a car accident and is in a wheelchair. personally, when I was in highschool there was this really hot and intelligent girl who was in a wheel chair. something about the muscles in her calves not growing properly, and because of this she couldn't easily walk. I never dated her personally, but I always thought she would have been my type. What are your opinions? Would you date a disabled person? |

Let me save you the trouble with my profound list of disabled datables:
Blind Deaf Physically hindered (cannot operate limb[s]) Amputee (must have a "great personality" and good "family background") Dwarfism Mentally Disabled (not challenged - ie: can't walk forward but okay backwards) I also have a list of disabled non-datables: (due to the complicated nature of their ailment that would severely impact any relationship) Blind and Deaf (extremely difficult communication) Amputated Dwarf (extremely difficult mobility) Mentally Challenged (I don't know if that's even legal) |

Personally, I don't think I would be able to emotionally handle it (best explaining). Maybe if "true love" was there and the motivation is strong, but that type of responsibility can be stressful, especially since one cant fully understand what they're going through.
Then we also go into their personal independence. |

i cant even keep friends for more than two weeks because i get annoyed by their codependency. i can't imagine what it would be like to date someone who can't survive without me for than a few days.

in my defense, she was an annoying girl who texted me everyday LOLZ XD and claimed to have ADHD but she just has a really crappy diet and we have nothing in common. also partly mexican, which i can't relate to or understand whatsoever.
sounds like either autistic or sociopathic. i was strongly over exaggerating and using the case of this one girl. however i am slightly suprised how i don't get lonely even when isolated for weeks at a time. i don't know if it means there's something wrong with me or i've just come to terms with the fact that i live a very different lifestyle than most teenagers and i enjoy being around people and being able to think on my own... |

my theory is that human beings in general have this primal tendency to have a part of their mind spasm in the form of sexual apprehension when viewing anyone of a certain physical detriment. survival of the fittest, if you will
as well, i just cant be datin' a ho with some f*cked up calves son. foot jobs, are a pre-requisite in my relationships. |

I dated a guy who was disabled from a car accident (he had a severe limp and his left arm he could not move on his own) It was a pretty nice relationship but his love of pain medication and booze sorta killed things.
