So, what are your thoughts on the Verizon Strike. What do you think is going to happen?

Personally, I believe times are tough, and in order for Verizon to become a more profitable & competitive company it needs to shed the union workers. Especially in the stagnant land-line business. I think it's going to happen too.

I believe many companies are looking to shed union workers as their more expensive than their non-union counter parts. Verizon is just beating the rest of the larger corporations in America to the punch.

Emphasis on more. Verizon is one of the most profitable telecom companies. Its revenue last year was $4.65 billion, and its on pace to triple that this year. In fact, its performance is outpacing the telecom industry as a whole. The CEO earns $18 million, a 4% increase in salary over last year.
