Definition

Some people get confused or don't really know the complete definition for "Anime" or "Otaku" is. So here are the definitions to help you out!

Anime: a style of animation originating in Japan. It is sometimes referred to by the portmanteau Japanimation. Anime is characterized by stark, colorful graphics and stylized, colorful images depicting vibrant characters in a variety of different settings and story-lines, aimed at a wide range of audiences. Anime may be broadcast on television, distributed on media such as DVDs or published as console and computer games. Anime is usually influenced by Japanese comics known as manga.
Otaku: a variety of geek (or an overly obsessed fanboy / fangirl) specializing in anime and manga.

I just got Death Note today!!! The NEW ONE!! I know its been out for a while, but YAY!!! YAY ME!!! YAY!! I didnt even notice this board!! I looked at the old and said "Why is their an X?" Then I read the last post! I'm just so.. Smrt!! I MEAN SMART! I make myself laugh! XD

I received Naruto vol. 12 as one of my birthday presents two weeks ago but was too busy to read it till yesterday. XD; Now that I have, I thought it was really good but just wonder what will happen with Sasuke vs. Gaara in the next volume.

No, I don't read Naruto online. For some reason I'd rather have the actual manga in my hands when I read it. Is anyone else like that?

I'm like that with everything I read. It's a bit more 'comfortable' to me. I don't know.

Yeah, me too. So that's why I buy them mangas. ><;; Even though.. I feel so guilty because it's like a waste of money. I usually read books once and only once, but its also a pain in the ass to sit at your computer and read it. -_-; Meh, but I can't WAIT for vol. 10 of Death Note.. It's coming out soo slow.

I buy most of my mangas, but I read my favorite ones online. Like Naruto. I would be wasting my money if I bought them because I read through them so fast.

I bought the first volume of Fruits Basket recently. But I haven't finished it yet. It's pretty good, though.

Wow another thread! This is great. I'm glad to hear that the naruto fillers will end sometime around feb. Other than that, Bleach episodes should be a lot longer. I don't really watch anime as much as I did, have any recommendations in some good animes? I've watched naruto, bleach, love hina, prince of tennis, get backers, cow boy bebot, one or two innuyasha episodes, and some others one I don't remember or forgot.

By the way, I think the banner I made is ugly.. someone replace it with the one toby made. or zed. ;D
