I have a quick question about affiliation. I hope this is the right place to post it; I saw that someone else posted a question here, so I figured it would be OK.
Awhile ago I tried signing up for the affiliation program. I think I did everything right. I uploaded the screenshot, filled out the info, put the verification code on my site and clicked, but when I log in here and check it still says my site (PhoenixTearz.com) is 'unverified'. I've done this process (clicking and trying to verify my site) several times. I did it first a few weeks ago, thinking maybe it would take some time, that maybe an admin had to verify it or something. But I logged in again today and still nothing. I just tried again, twice, and it doesn't seem to be working.
Can anyone help me with this? Has this problem ever happened before?

Posted by: skippysandy May 26 2008, 05:48 PM

Thanks for replying. I just tried, I did exactly what you said and my site still appears to be unverified. I filled in all the required forms, I added the CB button to my site (it's still there) and I clicked it. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong...it's not really that complicated a process. I don't know what the error can be attributed to, but I've tried this several times, as I said before, and nothing is working. sad.gif
Could my browser's cache be contributing? Are there any known bugs in the affiliation verification process that I could somehow be hitting? The URL to my unverified CB affiliate page is: http://www.createblog.com/affiliates/affiliate.php?id=36 - if that's of any help.

Posted by: SharperMyspace May 26 2008, 08:00 PM

How can I view my site's affliliation page on CB without having to look through the pages of afflilies to find it?

Also: On the pages for my layouts on CB, I have a link to my site. Is it ok if I change that link to "http://www.createblog.com/affiliates/in.php?id=66"?

Posted by: emberfly May 27 2008, 12:53 AM

One of your top affiliates: embracee gives people viruses when they visit her site!

http://www.createblog.com/affiliates/out.php?id=19

Every time I go there, my anti-virus software goes CRAZYYYYY!

Her site stores malicious viruses into your temp. internet files every time you visit! check it out of you don't believe me.

here's is a screenshot of what happens when I visit that site:

^ exactly. That's why people need to be warned about that site.

well some anti virus programs are paid to alert certain things that arent harmful to your comp, maybe your virus protection program is a virus. _unsure.gif

^^ oo okay then its the site:] lol :]

Posted by: emberfly May 27 2008, 09:20 AM

avast is top quality _smile.gif

...and free... so no it's not being paid to find that stuff.

Posted by: skippysandy May 27 2008, 09:02 PM

I'm really sorry, but it's still not working. I thought maybe Wordpress was causing the problem; I put the button in my WP theme folder, in my footer page (where I have all my other affiliates listed). The footer displays on the homepage...but still, I thought maybe that was the reason, so I pasted the button code on my index.php page and clicked it from there, and still nothing. :( I really wish I knew what was going wrong.

Posted by: JosephCohen123 May 28 2008, 02:01 PM

I dont understand? So if i become a createblog affiliate how can i get that hosting plan? is it when 1500 people click n the cb link on my site a day.

Posted by: JosephCohen123 May 28 2008, 08:29 PM

QUOTE(kreios @ May 28 2008, 04:03 PM) *
They have to click createblog from your site.

(ie. you send your 3 friends to your site, "http://josephcohen13.net" make believe that you have the createblog link already on the site. Giving them the link to your site will not increase nor decrease your hits in/out. However, if 2 of your friends decide to click the link to createblog at the wee bottom of your page, then you have 2 unique hits in).

So, bottom-line, you have to have 1500 different people click the link or button to createblog from your site. However, I'm unsure if this is based on a daily, weekly, or monthly count. I'll keep my eyes on the numbers at the end of the day/week/month to see if they rollover or if they reset.

Ya can someone found out if its daily weekly monthly or if it never resets?

Posted by: mynamesanel Jun 1 2008, 01:45 PM

Ok, i'm the owner of embracee.com my site does not give any virus. mabye it's just a occurence for you. and also i think it's unfair how i get deleted when there's no real proof of this, even yourslef say's then when you went to my site nonthing went wrong. shifty.gif

Posted by: JosephCohen123 Jun 2 2008, 12:42 AM

Question for the does the affiliate link have to that 88 by 41 or whatever image or can it just be a link?

Posted by: skippysandy Jun 3 2008, 07:44 PM

Thanks. :)

Well, I don't know what's going on either...I guess I'll just have to wait until it expires, and then try re-submitting? We'll see. Thanks for trying to help me with this. :)

How can I find out how hit in my link has gotten?

Where can I see it?

I need to know how close im getting to 1500?

Posted by: allvanishing Jun 5 2008, 01:36 PM

Go to your affiliate page and look on the right side below the ad. Uniques in means the hits from the link on your site. The Uniques out is the hits that came from cb to your site.

Edit: You need 1500 uniques in to get it.

Posted by: S-Majere Jun 27 2008, 05:50 PM

Is the affiliate programme compatible with Xanga? My site's been unverified for over a month - even after I've linked back via the affie code.

Buh.

Posted by: ArjunaCapulong Jun 27 2008, 06:03 PM

Posted by: ArjunaCapulong Jun 27 2008, 06:10 PM

What do you want me to do? Try to affiliate my Xanga?

Posted by: S-Majere Jun 27 2008, 06:17 PM

If you wouldn't mind. I'd like to know if this is just a Xanga problem (I doubt it - I prolly buggered something up somewhere).

Posted by: ArjunaCapulong Jun 27 2008, 06:39 PM

Yeah sure, I'll try it out as soon as I grab some time.

Posted by: S-Majere Jun 28 2008, 10:15 AM

Ah! Got it - to verify it looks like you need to hit both IN and OUT - in from your site via the affiliation code and out through the "go to site" link CB provides.

I've been trying to join b/c i want to explore some new sites but it keeps saying the screen shot must be 4:3. What does that mean?

Posted by: blueragedesigns Dec 23 2008, 12:05 AM

:O I don't get it. How do I "Send hits" Also it says it can't load my site. It does exist. :(
Please can someone explain this to me? There is nothing at the bottom of CB to say anything about hits or last active. :(

Posted by: Crimson_Sky Jan 7 2009, 06:34 PM

Okay, so I joined up yesterday...but I have a couple questions.

1) Do I have to put the button on the page I entered here? I have a gateway (http://www.crimsonskygraphics.com), which leads to seperate areas -- one a free, and one a store. I put the CB button on the index page of the free site (http://www.crimsonskygraphics.com/free), but now I'm wondering if it HAS to be on the main .com that I entered in here when I signed up? =\ If so, is there a way for me to change the link I entered here, cause I dont want external links on my gateway.

2) Just to clarify, I'd need a least 1 unique click a month to stay listed, correct?

Thanks. ^_^ I used your old affiliate thing and it was awesome, I had a huge amount of visitors after joining.

Posted by: AutumnSunsets May 12 2009, 06:51 PM

i was wondering, since i link my site affiliates not with their site banners, but with my own made banners, should i do the same for createblog's affiliates? i've yet to find a thread on this forum that better explains my problem. since affiliates are linked on every page, i don't like to directly link their site banners for many reasons, but for createblog, i doubt i'll get a warning not to directly link its banner, still i'm curious to know for sure before i link CB. any comments from fellow members?

Posted by: Mikeplyts May 12 2009, 06:55 PM

^actually, you are allowed. As long as the alt="" property in the image tag says "Free Myspace Layouts" and you use the url that the default code uses. _smile.gif

Posted by: goofipinay Jul 19 2009, 09:54 PM

I just got affiliated yesterday..
But today I changed my site around and what-not, but the screenshot's not saving..
Do I have to wait for it to change?

edit:
nevermind, I'm so impatient!

Posted by: AutumnSunsets Jul 20 2009, 03:39 PM

ehh i have no idea if i'm still affiliated with CB. xD

Posted by: ToxicManiac- Aug 5 2009, 11:28 AM

I bet this is a stupid question but.. What does it mean by 3 unique hits?

Posted by: Mikeplyts Aug 5 2009, 04:40 PM

^You must get a least 3 unique visitors to come here by clicking the link from your site.

Posted by: STshawtie Aug 18 2009, 03:21 AM

Posted by: Mikeplyts Aug 18 2009, 09:22 AM
