i duno why, but i was just wondering what everyone's favorite books were. i guess it'd be helpful to tell everyone why. also, you could write a small summery i guess and make recomendations. i'll start.

i guess one of my ultime favorite books is called Stravaganza: City of Masks by Mary Hoffman. it's a fantacy book. it's about this fifteen year old boy named Lucian. he has come down with cancer and is very weak. his dad finds him this magnificent book/journal. he gives it to him so he can write in it when he is too weak to talk. well, when Lucian falls asleep with this book in his hands, it takes him to a place called Belezza, Talia which is the equivialent to Venice, Italy in our world and time. It tells about his adventures and i don't want to give away any secrets, but it's a marvalous book that i'd recomend to anyone. biggrin.gif

hm... i'd say that my favourite book is..... the little prince by antoine de saint-exupery..
it's about this pilot person who got stranded in a desert... then uhm. he meets this alien prince.. that little prince is looking for a companion.... or something like that.... but before he got to earth, he met different leaders in different planets.. when he gets to earth, he meets many other creatures before the pilot....
but anyway.. the main themes in this book are childhood, innocence, and friendship. there are other sub-themes as well.. but they are a lot so i won't bother to mention them...

laugh.gif I had to read that book first in French. Le Petit Prince was interesting, but I thought the little boy who played the prince in the movie was sooo cute.

I liked Pride and Prejudice, Dante's Inferno, Once and Future King... I don't remember the rest. I read a bunch of trashy romance novels, too.

I'm quite fond of "The Da Vinci Code" and "Angels and Demons". I also thought "The Third World War" was interesting as well.

my two favorite books are Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell, and White Oleander by Janet Fitch. If you haven't read them already (but seen the movies) i suggest reading the books because they are beautiful. Gone with the Wind is just so deeply into the character of Scarlet O'Hara, and that's why I love it. White Oleander is a beautiful, beautiful book. If you don't get along with your mom, it's a great book to read.

It was written by Harper Lee. _smile.gif

My fave biggrin.gif is The Agony and the Ecstasy by Irving Stone, it's a fictional bio of Michelangelo.

I have to read Arthur Miller's The Crucible and some others as a summer English assignment, does anyone know if it's any good?

The Wheel of time is one of the best series I have ever read. Anne McCaffrey is also wicked good. She does the Dragon Riders of Pern and a couple of other series
