this is a continuation of my last topic about my jaw hurting

http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php...p;#entry3069716

i was thinking it was teeth clinching, but now since it's only on my right side and it's far back in my mouth i'm starting to think maybe it's my actual teeth.

who's gotten their wisdom teeth out? how did it feel before you did? did your mouth hurt before?

console.gif If it is your wisdom teeth, it's going to hurt like a biatch. My brother has to get his removed sometime, but he keeps putting it off because he doesn't have time to take off work.

I'm lucky, I never got mine and none show up on x-rays.

They just look at your teeth and tell you what they're going to do. they tell you pre op, and postop stuff that you should do. Whatever you do, after the surgery, dont somke of drink through straws, just dont do any sucking motions.

Mine are all shattered in pieces, but I do have them...

You've probably already seen me post about it already, but getting my wisdom teeth removed was the worst medical experience I've had in my life.

The pain didn't really bother me (there really wasn't much of it...sharp pain that is). Your mouth would just feel really sore for most of the time. But it was really the sheer embarrassment of having to hole yourself up for a month (I literally did not walk outside the door for a month...other people heal in a week, good for them) and having to eat cold congee with a tiny spoon (because I could BARELY open my mouth), and having only ONE side of the face swollen with a hard lump the size of half a tennis ball, that really made it a horrible experience. I literally thought I would never get better. There's something so terribly depressing about lying on the sofa with a hot/cold pack on your face, watching reruns of every single possible show you can imagine on TV. All day. For a month.

How's that for a run-on?

Hit by a car LOL wow. Come to think of it, I wasn't that bruised at all. Just that weird hard cancerous-like lump on my face.

I hope it won't be like that for you either. It's really quite bad. Best of luck flowers.gif!

Well mine are still growing and my mom isn't letting me pull them out until they grow because my sister got hers pulled out two years ago and my mom didn't want me to go through that.

Basically she got drugged, went to sleep and she came home and passed out on the floor for like 8 hours and when she got up she was still out of it.

Good look to you. Hopefully you only have four wisdom teeth. I heard some girl had 11.

keke. But like I said in your other thread, I thought my wisdom teeth were giving me problems because pain seemed to come from there. Instead, it was that I had a swollen jaw joints. The dentist gave me some neurological drugs to make the swelling go down. I had to take those for a month (and that meant a dry month), and he told me that if the pain didn't go away after a month, I would have had to see a bone doctor. Now THAT was scary. I'm sure your situation is much better than mine.

I never had my wisdom teeth removed. About once every 8-12 months, another one comes in. It hurts like hell for a week or two. Sometimes I can't open my jaw. Then it pops through and everything's fine again.

I think I'm done now, though. Or maybe I have one left to come in.

so the dentist told you about your jaw right? i hope if it's not my wisdom teeth then he can give me some insight into what my problem might be.

I had all four removed at once about two years ago. It wasn't so bad.. they put me to sleep. My mouth was numb and big for a couple of days.. there was a lot of drool and blood invovled.. i had to put napkins on my pillow. I think i got a fever from the antibiotics (they will probably prescribe you some). The bottom two annoyed me the most. The top two were no problem at all.

It took about a year for the hole to cover up. I had to squirt water into it with a plastic syringe in order to get the food out of the hole.

that's about it.. i think you should get all four taken out.
