if you forget your password to your wireless network is it possible to find it (through the settings and junk at the router ip) or change the password without doing a complete reset of the router? i don't wanna have to reconfigure it really.

Not as far as I know, but you can bruteforce it.

darn. i figured it wasn't, seeing as that would seem to defeat the purpose of the password in the first place if anyone could get on and just change it.

f*ck i don't know why i didn't write it down

You're a Mac user, aren't you? You might be able to compile aircrack-ng on your system.

yeah i'm a mac user. i haven't heard of aircrack-ng though.

i hate messing with my router. i always figure i'm gonna screw stuff up and i'm dumb as f*ck apparently when it comes to setting it up. i'm not even computer illiterate, but i just get into the settings and have no clue what anything is or does.

It doesn't even need to be compiled, lucky you.

Two questions:
  1. Do you mean the password to get into the admin section of your router, or the password to connect to your wireless network?
  2. What router are you using?

You might have it stored in your Mac OS X keychain, then. Open up Keychain Access (in /Applications/Utilities) and search for a key with the name of the network. (You can use the search box for this, obviously.) Double-click the network name, enter your (Mac OS X) password, and it should show it.
