if you forget your password to your wireless network is it possible to find it (through the settings and junk at the router ip) or change the password without doing a complete reset of the router? i don't wanna have to reconfigure it really.

Not as far as I know, but you can bruteforce it.

darn. i figured it wasn't, seeing as that would seem to defeat the purpose of the password in the first place if anyone could get on and just change it.

You're a Mac user, aren't you? You might be able to compile aircrack-ng on your system.

yeah i'm a mac user. i haven't heard of aircrack-ng though.
i hate messing with my router. i always figure i'm gonna screw stuff up and i'm dumb as f*ck apparently when it comes to setting it up. i'm not even computer illiterate, but i just get into the settings and have no clue what anything is or does. |

password to connect to the router. i haven't ever had to enter it since the day it was set up i don't think, because my mac just connects. but i've been using my playstation at my families house over the break, so now i need to connect it to my network and i need the password.
it's a linksys router |

You might have it stored in your Mac OS X keychain, then. Open up Keychain Access (in /Applications/Utilities) and search for a key with the name of the network. (You can use the search box for this, obviously.) Double-click the network name, enter your (Mac OS X) password, and it should show it.
