It doesn't reaaallly pick up and get exciting until halfway through the book LOL. Be patient! i get the feeling the second book won't have the same issue. ![]() i tried to start reading this but it has the same problem as the other books i've read by him: they start off horrifically boring. |

currently reading the iliad by homer.
the problem i have with reading is that i know anyone can be an author. even unintelligent people, so as i read all i can think about is judging the author based on their writing. and sometimes the writing tricks you into thinking they're intelligent... so i only like reading books by authors im familiar with. and i usually prefer very old books so i know it's not someone writing a book to try and make money. anyone else like this? |

^ Phew, I was planning to get The Night Circus for a friend but wasn't too sure. And now that I've seen what you have to say about it, I know I won't. Thanks!
I read so many good things about Room, but I also read that it's extremely repetitive because it's narrated by a 5-year-old. Did you think it was a problem at all? |

Room looks interesting.
I put Son of a Witch down. I am now reading The Girl Who Played with Fire (on my brand new nook color!) It's been a great page turner from page one. This one will finish fast. |

Did you think it was a problem at all? ahh, i'm SO glad you didn't! you can read my review of the book on amazon, haha: http://www.amazon.com/review/RD01C7RAHDVZU...=&linkCode= yeah, room is a good book, but i didn't recognize the repetitiveness that much. i think that could have been a result of how the boy told his routine every day, but once you realize the situation he and his mom are in, you get why he is repeating himself. Room looks interesting. I put Son of a Witch down. I am now reading The Girl Who Played with Fire (on my brand new nook color!) It's been a great page turner from page one. what did you think? p.s. NBA. what do you think? Great Gatsby was pretty good. I didn't love it but it was short and fun to read, ok story. I like that setting. NBA... ![]() I'm happy with how Orlando is playing right now, but the Dwight saga is hanging over my head. I'm sure you can relate, as the Nuggets went through this with Melo last year. Though I think there is a better chance of Dwight sticking around and causing less drama than Melo. Nuggets look interesting...people are picking them as a sleeper. I think they can go pretty far this year because they have the ideal team to cope with a condensed schedule. Youth and a deep bench. Plus the Denver altitude home court advantage will be even more valuable this year I think with all these teams playing so many back to backs. |

I wanted to read it after I found out what it's about. Why not finish the series? the girl with the dragon tattoo was sooo slow in the beginning and all the characters were exhausting. also, the ending dragged with like a 100 pages of mikeal writing or whatever. sure, there were page turning moments, but i didn't want to read another book like that. but the first few pages of the second seem creepy already! Can anyone suggest some good dark/horror novels? I need to read a LOT more this year. Last year I only read a single book. have you read full dark, no stars by stephen king? i read it early this year and looooved it. Great Gatsby was pretty good. I didn't love it but it was short and fun to read, ok story. I like that setting. NBA... ![]() I'm happy with how Orlando is playing right now, but the Dwight saga is hanging over my head. There are a lot of characters who's stories keep coming into play. It is confusing at times. But the story as a whole is so interesting. |

Spoke too soon. Somewhere in the middle there's a lot of seemingly unnecessary police stuff. Finished well though.
Now i'm into The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. Has anyone read anything by Jo Nesbø? |

Has anyone read anything by Jo Nesbø? i just finished the girl who kicked the hornet's nest and found it soo disappointing. so many unnecessary details and wtf was up with the berger subplot? that whole part should have been taken out! i really liked the girl who played with fire though. that one was a page turner. started game change a couple of days ago: ![]() |
