I have this "friend" who I can no longer stand. She's bitchy, mean (but not to me), and an attention whore. She's such a needy person all she does is talk about herself, and she intentionally surrounds herself with losers to look better herself. Besides that, she doesn't give a shit about my life. I can't deal with it or her anymore.

So, I'm breaking things off with her. Anyone else ever have to end things with a ex-friend?

Don't make it complicated. Be cold, be concise; everything should be calculated from the jump.

I've never ended things with a friend, since I feel like it's always better to have a positive relationship with someone rather than a negative one. I have a few friends that I can only take in small doses, but for the most part, when I lose interest in somebody, I tend to stop initiating contact with them and we naturally drift apart. I hate confrontation and I usually avoid it when I can.

I have had a friend "break up" with me, though, and it really sucks. Pretty much stamps all over your pride, but I guess it's still better than leaving things hanging.

I am doing that right now. I tend to avoid confrontation but it's inevitable. There's this 'friend' of mine that I can't stand anymore. Our relationship was VERY unhealthy. I mean, we're almost 21, I go to uni, I have a boyfriend with whom I'm practically living with, I've got a complicated family, I've got friends. I am quite busy. Unlike her, she's almost 21, doesn't go to college anymore, is single, has NO friends, except me, living alone, no family in Belgium. I mean, I became her WHOLE world. Whenever I did stuff with my boyfriend and his friends, she HAD to be there or she'd bitch and whine. Whenever my boyfriend and I had problems in our relationship, she'd practically tell me to dump him and PROPOSE for me and her to clubbing.

I can't deal with her anymore. It's been 3 years and I've had it. What I do, I stop talking to her, become really cold, tell her I'm very busy. But then we talked yesterday on MSN and yeah, like I expected, things didn't go well. It sucks that we aren't talking but my relationship is better with my boyfriend ... I feel REALLY relieved.

In your case, either you avoid her completely or you talk to her. She might bitch and make things seem as if it's your fault but stay strong and fast to your opinion.

I have a 'friend' that was needy and always wanting attention. She would make up stuff on she was moving away and that she was sick and anemic. Then she got everyone to believe that she was pregnant and getting sent to the phillipines to have the baby when she was a freshman in Highschool. Everybody was hella babying her before she left and we all went out to eat on the last day of school at Johnny Carinos, apparently she was "craving" for food (pineapple, fruits). Couple day after she so-called "left" to the pi's & I left for vacation in china...she was on myspace. She posted pictures of beaches and spots that she took on her camera. My friend said that the pictures looked too fake, kinda like the pictures off of google images (pictures taken from a plane), so my friend googled them and the pictures were there. She wasn't in any of the the pictures. So my friends messaged her and said that the pictures where from google. She started denying sh!t and drama started. A week later, she had a sweet 16 birthday party. what the fcuk?!

She didn't even go to the phillipines and she wasn't even pregnant. She wasn't even anemic or even moving anywhere. She made up everything jst got get our attention and that really pissed me off. mad.gif Im soo glad that that bop is outta our circle. geeeeze us.

@ WarMachine. That's exactly what I'm doing. She was a pain in the ass. She actually told me that if my boyfriend is going to be at my birthday party, she isn't coming. Yet, she loooves hanging out with us. WTF? Stalker? It's my fault, I was too blind to see it. Well not anymore. I'm done really. She was the one who asked me why I was distant with her, and when I explained, she got really mad. LOL. f*ck that.

I agree with them. I've had to break things off with my friends plenty of times before. No matter how much it sucks, things end up so much better in the end. People really don't know what they have until they actually lose it, so maybe this can be a positive thing for the both of you.

Exactly. You don't know what you have till it's gone. Honestly, there are people you really don't need in life. Some people are just good as acquaintances and 'ex good friends'.

Excuse my bad English. It isn't my mother tongue.
