Its a radio program.. everyone knows that Rush is very opininated and very conservative.. it comes as no surprise to me that he said this. Im not saying its right either.. but he said it and freedom of speech is allowed.

I'm not sure you even read what I posted, so let me reiterate: Of course freedom of speech "is allowed". No one is saying otherwise. But you're confusing "freedom of speech" with "freedom of speech, free from any criticism or response". Whether Rush is just an opinionated blowhard or not, a lot of people still listen to him, and that doesn't give him a free pass to not be criticized for what he says. Right or wrong, he said what he said publicly, and that opens his words up to scrutiny.

QUOTE(dosomethin888 @ Feb 3 2009, 09:57 PM) *
I know its offensive to Obama supporters.. so if it is.. dont listen to Rush.
And these people can say what he said was wrong .. but it doesnt change that he said it. People are going to say and do a lot of things that are "wrong." Dont be oh-so sensitive.. he after all didnt say it about you... and if Obama succeeds... you all can just shove it right back into Rush's face.
Ya...

Don't be confused: the criticism doesn't come from personal offense, it comes from disagreement with the words that Rush spoke. Just because someone disagrees, doesn't mean they are personally offended. Neither I nor most of the people who posted in this thread are personally offended by Rush, we just disagree with his sentiments; at the very least, we find them unhelpful for the country.

Also let's not forget that Rush is an entertainer for a living. That's not to say I don't think he means anything he says, but he's an entertainer nonetheless and if you were bored while listening, well you wouldn't listen.

i'm pretty much with steven, he's an entertainer. i think it's unproductive and idiotic to wish our president to be a failure because it's not like america isn't going right along with him when he fails...but i think his whole show is unproductive and idiotic in general anyway.

he's ridiculous, but so is the whole mentality of the people who listen to him seriously.

It really wouldn't surprise me if a 3rd party steps up in the next 8 years. I think it's time. They just have to get their shit together and demand they be taken seriously.
Ron Paul, ftw! (Seriously, I love that guy. I want the media to interview him about the stimulus package.)

See, I smoke, and I think it's harmless in the sense that you're not reckless and you're more likely to sit at home, watch TV, laugh a lot, eat, and fall asleep. But I don't necessarily agree with legalization. I'm more on the side of decriminalization. You should be able to smoke at home and on your own property, but I totally understand it being illegal in public. Hell, society as a whole hasn't even accepted cigarettes. They sure aren't going to accept weed. But, you know, they get drunk and act like idiots every night and drive around wasted. That's ok.

Anyway, I didn't know Ron Paul was for legalization.

I agree, unless im super hungry, i dont usually want to drive, i feel as though weed enhances your senses, so any fear is greatly exaggerated

Oh yeah no doubt. The ability to remain calm and talk yourself out of being paranoid comes with experience. I remember the first time I smoked I was all sketched out haha. And it definitely enhances your senses. If I drive, I'm more focused and alert than when I am sober. Video games too. I'm pretty good when it comes to games in general, but when I'm high I'm focused and everything comes into play. I'm like a god at gaming with marijuana, lol.

Stimulus checks should be sent out in the form of debit card type things so people can't save (the stimulus), only spend.

poor people need to buy food, xbox's, and pay their rent. they don't have enough money to save money.
they aren't designed to save it anyways.

ron paul is a f*cking moron.
& he's not really for legalization... just like he really isn't for anything... ron paul is a true & brave patriot... relinquish all responsibility to the state! because, you know, georgia or kentucky... they could never ever f*ck anything up! f*cking idiot. he's attractive because he isn't a traditional politician... he doesn't look like one, he doesn't talk like one, and he doesn't walk like one... but, really, different isn't always better. ron paul has awful, moronic f*cking politics.

The only time I've been high, my friends were freaking out (it was their first time, too), and I was calm, really focused too, now that I think about it... I got dizzy like a motherf*cker though, a few hours later; I guess as my body was digesting the THC (we had had two pot brownies each).

I almost just reflexively defended Georgia. Whoa. I need to get out.

One thing I never understand about people, is they always say this and that is Un- American. Yet you hear the same people saying that they wish the president fails. Is this not Un-American? I mean what person in their right mind wants to see the president fail? I wasn't a Bush supporter but I wasn't rooting for him to fail.

I really find it funny how conservatives continually say mean-spirited things like this but then turn around to bitch and moan about how the "liberal media" is demonizing them.

Rush Limbaugh... is... he's a walking talking piece of shit.

How could you say that about your Commander-In-Chief? I couldn't stand Bush but I never wanted him to fail, I was just afraid of him making things worse. My thoughts were always along the lines of, "I really hope he doesn't f*ck this up even more."
