^yeah, i just think in general it's funny. i feel like everyone in the book was a more interesting character than bella and edward. especially bella, she had like nothing going for her really imo. at least edward kills animals and drinks their blood, that's slightly entertaining. bella just falls a lot, hyperventilates, stares at edward...yeah that's about it.
hey, what are you doin in here, get back to your gossip girls |

...for Steven Strait. He was actually my first choice for Jacob, but I felt ok about the Taylor since he fit the age of Jacob in Twilight. However, for some of the juicy stuff that happens in Eclipse, dear LORD... please cast Steven. That is all. New Moon grew on me the second reading. I was so wrapped up into the Edward thing that I just couldn't get past the lack of o' sparkly one in the book. For some reason, the more repeat reads I do, the more I like Jacob. Although, I'm still left funkified because of the last book. =/ (sorry for the book ranting, but since there's a chance they might all be film adaptations...) Some people just like sparkly things. And, oh yes. Steven Strait + Eclipse= what!? i don't remember anything juicy about jacob and eclipse!. what's weird... hmm, i have to think now. please private message me, i totally forgot! heh xD |

OHHH. And. http://www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles/16...215/story.jhtml QUOTE MTV News can confirm that 26-year-old "Scorpion King 2" actor Michael Copon [pronounced "COPE-on"] is one of several actors Weitz is considering to play the new, larger Jacob Black. A representative for Copon told us that they're making a full effort to land the high-profile gig. And in a bit of 21st-century self-publicity, the actor has even recently updated his Facebook status with messages like: "Michael Copon [is] in a Twilight Zone!" and "Michael Copon is the older Jacob Black!" QUOTE With the buzz building for these roles, MTV News has confirmed that 27-year-old "Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" heartthrob Ben Barnes is throwing his hat into the ring. The actor is already quite popular with the "Twilight" fanbase and shares the same manager as both Copon and "Twilight" star Cam Gigandet. Barnes is believed to be campaigning for the role of Aro, a mind-reading vampire whose "New Moon" encounter with Edward and Bella helps shape their destiny together. Prince Caspian ftw. |

They need to cast the Steven guy. You know how many people would cum in their pants If he was sweaty and...half-naked..and kissing Bella?
To be honest both Bella and Edward annoy me. Like JC said, their quite boring and seemingly flat characters. I actually like Kristen's representation in the film because, if she's supposed to be just like Charlie, she's supposed to be reserved and stoic. In the book she complains about falling and not being worthy and shit. Bitch stfu. And Edward, well...the only redeeming quality is he's gorgeous. I only like him when he says sweet little things, or he does something sexy. That's about it. Rosalie was ugly in the movie. New Moon was the most boring out of all four. Like seriously? Edward's gone and she' stuck with Jacob, who's virtually bipolar. And not the good type. It doesn't help that the new director plans on changing it so Edward's in it much more; actually it may help but it'll f*ck up the story-line. |

Caspian was still pretty sexy. MMMHMMM. He's just not a Jacob.
Why is it so hard to follow the books? Seriously? If Peter Jackson can do it for LOTR, then why the hell can't someone do it for this?! Rawr. |

^God, seriously!
I can't stand that they can't go along with the books >_> Maybe someone else down the road will decide to recreate these even better. I never saw the golden compass but I did read the letter the guy wrote about new moon. I'm not sure what to expect. I didn't hear many good things from the Golden Compass, but I hope for the best of course. |

A lot of fans would probably be angry if Robert Pattinson were basically absent for the entire second movie even though that's how it goes in the book. Then the box office would lose profits, etc., blah blah blah. I hope they won't put him in for more than half the movie if they're going to deviate from the book that much.

They'll probably have him in the movie more in the beginning if anything. Or else they change they add more to the ending of it.
And, well, with no Rpatz then maybe half the screaming girls would go? |

The only way I can see them putting Rob more in the movie, so perhaps putting him more in the beginning and perhaps cutting out some of the middle and start some of the beginning of Eclipse. I mean it would be going out of the New Moon book but it would have more of him in it.

The problem with adding more Edward is that the whole point of New Moon (or most of it, at least) is Bella's inability to cope with his absence and the growth of her friendship with Jacob as a result. Having more of him (Edward) makes it less of an impact. That and it cheapens Jacob's storyline, which is a dick move, in my opinion.
As far as character development goes (to an extent, of course), Twilight is the beginning of that which is |

If they add more Edward, it's not going to be like New Moon at all. The whole point of New Moon is that she gets more close to Jacob. If they change the storyline to add more R. Patt, then it's not really New Moon. You know?

But Edward isn't completely absent. Bella does have those hallucinations and dreams, so maybe they'll just add a bit more to those.

obviously they have to do the dreams and hallucinations because thats part of the story in new moon. the movie shouldn't add scenes more of edward, then it isn't like new moon, it changes.

This is my first post ever in the Twilight movie club, how exciting. But yeah, I was reading some opinions about that in some other thread as well. I'm reading New Moon right now and to be honest, I'm missing Edward's presence in it but I agree that the director should stick to the book as much as possible (I wouldn't mind if he did sort of a switch to Edward's point of view, though.) After all, its not a narrative.

I guess I'm just a cynic. ;) This is my first post ever in the Twilight movie club, how exciting. But yeah, I was reading some opinions about that in some other thread as well. After all, its not a narrative. Well, the only problem is that the books are typically written from Bella's POV. While the book (that isn't quite a "book" yet) from Edward's POV could be utilized in order to franchise on Patz' presence, I still think that the direction would be jerky if the film perspective altered from one POV to another. |

^That's more or less how I feel about it.
I think having less Edward in this movie will do the fan girls a little bit of good. Like show them how Jacob isn't a bad guy. I know people who skipped the whole "Jacob POV" part in Breaking Dawn Showing him and Bella forming this friendship will be a good way for Jacob-haters to really see how important he is to the storyline, and to Bella. Plus I'm sick of all those "I want to La Push Jacob off a cliff" flairs on Facebook. They are not funny -_-'' |

I think having less Edward in this movie will do the fan girls a little bit of good. Yeah, I saw the movie yesterday and I realized that it WAS Bella narrating so as much as I'd love to see more of Edward, I'm sure we'll survive because we'll get to see more of Jacob as well. (Hopefully they don't decide to replace Taylor Lautner.)Like show them how Jacob isn't a bad guy. Drifting a little off topic here but I really didn't like their special effects. |
