i just saw the movie. It was great. i just don't get one thing. Why can't Edward read Bella's mind?

They explain it in the last book.

ANYWAY. for some reason i was thinking the other day...they didn't have the whole dazzle thing in the movie, did they? or did i totally miss it?

Hahahha you totally missed it!!
It was SOO LAME, it was hard to watch with a serious face.

It was when she confronts him to being a vampire and then he rushes her off into the woods telling her "up the mountain, pass the whatever, you need to see me when i'm in the sunlight." And then he goes on this rock thing where the light is and......POW! bella dies because of the low special effects. Also they show him dazzling when they stare off into eachother in the meadow after their "lion falls in love with the lamb" deal.

wow you watched it on there? the colors were so ugly and faded when i looked at like 30 seconds of it on there a week ago.

Well, you make do with what you can. I wasn't about to pay money to see this mediocre movie.

QUOTE(murderwaltz @ Dec 7 2008, 07:24 PM) *
the biggest opener for a female director. That was a record embraced by Hollywood feminists as a sign of growing gal power. Now Hardwicke's career will surely be damaged by this very public firing because, even though the pic was skewered by critics, it is already a $160M low-cost blockbuster.

It doesn't matter who directed it; the fangirls still would have turned up to see their beloved Edward in action. It just so happens that the movie had a female director. I'm sure that there are some non-Meyer fans who saw the movie because they like Hardwicke's other films and wanted to see how she would do with this one.

Seriously? It turns out that Bella has this barrier thing that makes it so that no one else can see into her thoughts, and that it can be pushed out of her own mind to protect the ones around her. It's how she protects the big group of vampires at the end of the last book.

Yeah but JC, the books have been out for a while and the movie's been out for a few weeks now. Typically, spoiler tags aren't used after people have had ample time to read/watch content.

Just sayin' ;)

Also, I'm glad the director is out. I blame her for much of the negative aspects of the film adaptation. Now they just need to work on getting a better screen writer because some of the dialogue was cringe worthy.

i fell asleep through this. one of my best friends is a huge twilight fangirl and she elbowed me in the middle because apparently, i was drooling.

most likely because i was dreaming about robert downing junior who is a million times hotter than robert pattinson or however you spell his name.

Thank you, Rebecca. We stopped using spoiler tags in the book thread about five days after Breaking Dawn came out, so yeah.

Anyway, I wonder if the movie series will go through a chain of directors like Harry Potter. I hope a good one is found for New Moon and then stuck with.

Hmm I'm not part of this club or anything nor did I ever know what Twilight was. I plan on reading the book though, since I just saw the movie, I like to compare.

The movie isn't as bad as I expected though, but I wouldn't give it a 10/10 either.

So how many books are there anyway? Do they plan on making other movies? Do they plan on having better screen writers? I was really irked by the whole mood of this movie, but of course I haven't read the books yet so I wouldn't know what 'mood' is supposed to be in the movie.

I'll have to pick up all the books tomorrow if there is more, take me a couple of days to finish reading them.

Seriously. I take issue with much about the film, Rosalie was not a problem though, in my opinion. Her outfits, however, were hideous. Seriously, what was going on with that?

Dammit, I wish Taylor whateverhisnameis would grow up quicker! He was one of the positive things about the movie. His smile is absolutely adorable. I also hope that with the new director, the direction of the film won't be so goddamn cartoon-y. New Moon has some great potential. In fact, I think it should be an easier adaptation than Twilight. I don't know, it just seems like the storyline should translate to film with a bit more ease. That and thank f*cking god there shouldn't be more in the way of high school bullshit.

i think new moon will definitely play out better. since most of the book is just about bella and jacob all summer. there are major parts in there everywhere, but i don't think it will be hard to narrow it down, you know? i don't think it'll be as rushed as twilight. then again, i could be wrong.

Yeah, I just picture New Moon as a better film in general. Less clunky and cliche. Perhaps a bit more of an investment will be made with the effects as well this time around. No more Edward Glitter Jazz Hands. Because, damn. =/

ROFL They better make the wolves super awesome. I too am hoping that they invest more..idk..quality into New Moon. Twilight established the fan base, and now we're all pathetically eager to see it continued.

And Taylor was so effing adorable. I liked him a bit better than RPatz in the movie. =/
