"wtf?" to me driving at 8?

I learned how to drive before I was 8. I'm a farm kid, so it's typical. That's probably why I didn't get any points when I took my behind the wheel drivers test.

Hm. Yeah, that's a horrifying thought here.

I went on a geology field trip to some rural place last fall, and this truck kept driving by us- first driven by a kid who looked like he was no more than 7, then by his even younger sister. We were all absolutely horrified.

I first drove when I was 4. Well, I had the wheel. One of my parents worked the pedals.

I was too short to really drive.

When my mom first let me drive her car (I was around 8) she told me to back it into the drive way and I ran into the pole that holds up the overhang of the roof by our step. I felt really bad, but my dad just got the hammer and pushed it back out. Looking back on it, it was funny. But at the time I was scared.

OMG I did the EXACT same thing. I think I might have been like 11, but I was driving home from church with my dad and I got nervous going into the carport. My dad told me to stop when I got up there and he was gonna go ahead and park the car, but somehow I just gunned it into the pole and bent it up pretty bad. My dad straightened it out, but my family (my brother especially, who was yelling from the backseat the entire time) still remembers and laughs at me for it. My dad got a kick out of it at the time, too.

That doesn't count. I did that. I wouldn't consider that driving, because there was really no way for me to cause any serious damage.

Hey MelMelz, guess what?

Last night (okay, earlier this morning, in the wee hours), my sister came home and parked in the driveway, in front of the garage. She went to close and hit the automatic garage door! So now there's a dent in the garage door AND the one of the lines is broken. So the garage door only opens halfway. My mom is SOOO PISSED. laugh.gif
