This topic is for:
-Stating you opinions on going green. Wheather you disagree or agree.
-Stating your opinions on Peta [Yes, I do feel its relevant with going green, eat it if you disagree.]
This topic is not for:
-Saying stupid one liners that don't make sense at all.
-Bashing others for not liking Peta/The green world and vice versa.

Now, with that being said I'm to state my opinons on this. :]

I think its lame that all of the celebrities an like their little followers are just being glorified as that greatest things in the world just because they all of the sudden went green. I don't feel that they deserve to be glorified when they probably do the most damage to the earth. I also don't like how its an in thing, its kinda lame and I didn't think it would bother me this much. Yet, it does, it's like every where I turn its Jessica Simpson gave so much money to this green charity or Fergie sold her Hummer. I think its great that they want to change the world but I feel like its all for press.

As for Peta. I love Peta. I think its a great organization and I think they're doing a great job with helping animals. The only thing I don't like is that it tries to get you be vegan. Like yeah its great if your are but if your in Peta it's like you need to be. I know thats a whole part of their statement it helps imply that animals are friends but they actually make it like you have to be vegan if your in Peta. I mean of course you don't have to, they don't own you, but they really push it on you.

Going Green:
Nothing wrong with trying to lower pollution/emissions, but I see no point in "going green" if it's going to cripple our society and hurt our already in debt economy. If your going green thing is stemming from "GLOBAL WARMING DUN DUN DUNNNNN" and how the US needs to follow the Kyoto Protocol, then you really should read the Global Warming thread. Regarding celebrities driving hybrids and the such, that's a croc of shit. They do that for publicity, not because they care. If they cared so much they would have done the research that took me about 10 minutes and found out that hybrids are worse for our environment than a hummer. Hybrids save gas sure, but the production, shipping, mining for hybrid specific materials, does way more destruction than a normal combustion engine.

Peta:
Peta peta peta. They're not exactly ethical. As others have stated, Peta would abuse animals for videos on how horrible it is when people abuse animals. The animals were fine until Peta wanted to use them in the videos and they would beat them, get them sick, spray paint them, etc etc. Also, I'm sure it was mentioned but Peta for publicity adopted a large number (let's say 500) of puppies that they were going to "find a home for." They tried for about a week while the media was watching them and covering them for how good and ethical they were. When they were done w/ their publicity, they dumped nearly all the remaining puppies in a dumpster. They didn't even let them run free, they just dumped them in a dumpster where they were going to die no matter what they tried.

I like the going green lifestyle because I want a better world but I don't really think its going to stop global warming. Even if it could, too many don't beleive or care to participate.

As for peta, they are the most contradicting people ever. [imo]
They say they want to help animals but yet they're the ones who are the abusers and killers. And all that "we're going to find good homes for animals" bs is sickening. They don't even want you to have pets! Instead, they want to kill them and leave them in dumpsters. Animals would be better off without Peta.

Going green will not stop the earth from warming, just a fyi. If we stopped production everywhere on earth of everything and all died off as a race, the earth would still continue to warm. The earth's temperature cycle looks like a sin curve.

We'll all be dead when it does eventually burn out. I mean dead as in the sense that everything is gonna burn when the sun's outer surface starts to expand.
Atleast thats what they say.

We'll all be dead before pollution really takes the toll. What's the difference.

Exactly. We are all just mere spectacles living on earth. We come and go. We do what we got to do in our 70-80 years, and bam, we go to hell. And the cycle continues with our grandchildren, and their grandgrandgrand children, until the sun dies out.

You assume there is in fact an afterlife. My statement was just getting to the end of where your repeated quote seemed to be going. That's something for another debate, not this one. This is about here and now, not what's going to happen a million years from now. That won't affect us one bit, so why bring it into the debate?

Well that's a suck ass way of looking at life lol, that's not completely true though, what if in a million years we figure out a way to create an artificial sun or some other forum of sun type energy and heat? You just never know until you get there, so like he said, can't really bring something that far into the future into play.

As for going green, I think it's a nice idea, but to many people are set in there ways, I don't think it will make much of a difference even if millions of people contribute.

And as for PETA, I'm totally for People Eating Tasty Animals, and having house pets.
