I know there are themes/skins for Firefox, but are there any for IE?
I saw a few cute purple and pink ones for Firefox, and i'd like to find one for IE... |

I don't like how Firefox shows the div layers moving/blinking when you scroll down the page, how only some image maps work, and how it appears to me that you can't change the scrollbar color (or do I have to make the site using the Firefox css section?). Is there any way around this stuff without having to recreate my site ON firefox, or would I just have to make the site on that browser?

IE can suck. Using the GreaseMonkey extension, you can download neat stuff in Firefox. Sometimes, if you want the layout to look similiar in both browsers... Make it in Firefox. Then, use the hack code. That will snap the layout in position in IE.

There are just things compatible in IE and not in Firefox, get used to it. FF isn't totally perfect yet and it's improving all the time but hey, things have to balance out. If only Firefox was perfect, who would use IE?
Anyway....back on topic. I have searched this topic before, curious to know if there were any skins for IE. (from Windows themselves) There aren't. |

I don't believe there are any skins that Internet Explorer can use. The only possibility in which I can see that happening is by using a program called WindowBlinds, which actually skins your whole computer.

i wouldn't use firefox if my ram is less than a gig. that thing eats up a lot of memory even without extensions. with 2-3 tabs open, it'll go as high as 200 megs of ram usage.
if you have an old pc with 512- megs of ram, either upgrade or use ie7. btw, try visual styles; it's a free alternative to windowblinds but only works on xp. screenshot: http://www.questlife.net/zio_desk4.htm more info: http://www.xanga.com/stupidhead/594292378/zios-desktop.html deviantart vs themes: http://browse.deviantart.com/customization...amp;alltime=yes |

I've known a few people who have used Firefox. They claimed they got more viruses and vulnerabilities from it than with IE. I don't really know though. I've never tried it, too nervous.

IMO if you know what you're doing you should be safe on firefox or IE; if you don't, you can just as easily get a virus on firefox as on IE

Personally, I prefer FF, as I enjoy its plug-ins and customizable look.
and I've noticed it runs better. I also like the TAB part, where as, to get that with IE, you have to download a toolbar [yahoo is popular] It doesn't fill up my task bar. And I alway got more viruses from IE. personally. |
