Well recently i've been recieving messages on myspace requesting male usable layouts. You know at first I figured well maybe this would be easy, but it actually is easier to create the usual girly ones. I'm sure color choice can play a major role when designing layouts for guys, but finding suitable images can become a problem. Some of these requests were wanting the usual half naked females, but how bare is too bare? I'm not sure if there is a thread on bikini pics or anything that may create the illusion of nudity. How do you go about designing layouts for guys?

^ Same here. As long as they are covered up where the major parts are (that sounded odd) I'm cool with using the pictures.

The only layouts I had to do for guys happened to be muscians and clothed people. I prefer not to use naked people or people close to that because, when I actually do create things, I have to be comfortable myself. (atleast to some exstent).

I would suggest you have them provide the pictures and the color schemes they want. You can atleast have them choose the pictures, don't make anything you are uncomfortable looking at. Once you get the picures you can easily come up with color schemes from there.

This is my opinion on swimsuits and layouts....

It really depends. We don't exactly have a written rule against it but I don't really think its good to have "explicit" type material out there because of the age the people that view our layouts. Really people can disagree but there is nothing wrong with some clothing.

If its like this , there isn't really anything wrong with it:

http://www.stockxpert.com/browse.phtml?f=view&id=112282
http://www.sxc.hu/photo/436437
http://www.sxc.hu/photo/346345

Those are pretty conservative images. I'm not saying it has to be like that, but as long as the people are somewhat covered up and the motive of the layout isn't "yay sex party on the beach" or stuff of that nature, I don't see why not. We'd rather not have boobs sticking out all over the place.

I think we should pass on stuff like this, other mods may disagree.

even though i am a guy i also find it kinda hard to do because i get bored of the consent sports, band, beer, and swimsuit model layouts. I try to come up with ideas but it's hard when most of the girly ones that i make get the best feedback.

I think theres lot of layouts that are for both guys and girls. I think color is important when it comes to making layouts for different sexes. Obviously, if you make a layout with pink and bright colors, guys usually won't use it. I know lots of guys who don't have half naked women on their myspace pages. I don't mind working with pictures of party clothed women for layouts for people... it's not a big deal. I won't work with nudes! ew

I get requests like that too... I try to keep colors neutral for guys. You know, the blues, tans, whites... greens sometimes.

When it comes to types, I try to stick to holidays, video games, and movies. Sometimes I do combat themes (they really like that). I stay away from emotions if I'm trying to make a guy layout - they don't like that much.

But seriously, I also get more feedback on the girly layouts.

alot of things i would probably consider unisexual (haha, i think thats the right word)
i have never seen on another guys myspace.
like stripes.
im pretty much the only guy
in my little circle thing
that has stripes.
are stripes feminine?

and is it just me
or do alot of guys tend to have myspace that are
huge
with the tables stretched out
and like a billion of those annoying quizzes all over the place?

Well, usually for males I end up making like celebs, movies, and things. Usually I try to make it so both guys/girls use it.

Yeah, i think colors play a major role that shows if girl or guy is going to use it. I HARDLY go really bright colors. =X
