That's because in that picture (where the Mom is holding her), she's been in the hospital already for 4 months with treatments and such. If you click on that photo, a slideshow will pop up and there's pictures of when the baby was born. She's tiny and looks severely malnutritioned.

Geez, I remember when I was in Child Development and there was a girl who weighed as much as a stick and half of butter. She was 15 and she wasn't even 4'8. She was still tiny.

Probably a lack of nutrition in development or she's got some dwarf gene. tongue.gif

No, but seriously, I know somebody with a disease of the small intenstines. She doesn't have one or it doesn't function properly or something. Without the function of a small intenstine, her body isn't allowed to absorb the nutrients it needs, so she's always going to be skinny and petit.

Awww, what a miracle. I dunno, stories like that I find so comforting. I know that sounds cheesy, but what can I say? That baby is adorable, healthy, and finally ready to go home; that's such a wonderful thing.

Wow. Compare the size of the baby to the pen.

I hope she will be okay later on in life.
