Back again
a painefull euphoria - I think you sound like a qualified person that could be on staff, except I think you need a bit more experience around the forums. Your pretty new and your most active in the sandbox, I kind of think that shows a bit or immaturity, but it seems like a lot of people seem to like you and think your pretty mature by reading through the hiring thread here in the lounge. When I started going through your posts, the first 20 or so posts were all done in the sandbox. Then of course as I went done I did see you posted in other parts of the community. You've only been around for about 3 months, I think you still need time to get around in the community and mature up some and get to know more members and such. Although remember even if your well-known it doesn't mean that your going to have a better chance. I think if you really want to be a mod then you should show a dedication to the site and know when its the right time to show your fun side and show a serious side. Sorry about your first topics being bashed though, I know that must have been bad and I personally think anyone that would have done that should have receieved a punishment if they did not. Good luck though Rachel is love - You sound like you know what comes along with being on staff, since you were on it before. Although it does sound like you won't be all that active and contributing to the community all that much, of course you stated that you would be by the end of the month, what happens if your not though? I think you could still fill the shoes of being on people staff, you seem to have a nice attitude from your application. Going through you posts you do post quite a bit throughout the community and contribute a lot, thats great. Although you do cuss at times, which isn't all that great to do while being on staff. It doesn't exactly show a real professionalism. Although you seem to have a great sense of humor that others enjoy. So I don't have any really negative things to say about you being on staff. I think they should welcome you on to people staff. T0rmented_Soul - By your application you do seem like a very good person to be on staff atleast by your opinions. I think everyone should be treated equally as you stated which is a good thing I think to have when your on staff. Because I have seen on other sites and perhaps even this one where some people didn't get punished because they were friends with so and so. Also a good thing that you'll except criticism that is given to you and only take it as a matter of improving. When I viewed your profile you also showed that you were most active in the sandbox. -shrugs- If you read the other things I wrote to others you would know my opinion on that. When I started going through your posts you had posted a lot in the sandbox, although some of your posts were quite helpful. Although a lot of posts were kind of spamish. I mean when you get put on staff (if you do) are you going to continue posting a million times in the sandbox or actually post in all the forums throughout the community. Anyway other than the sandbox being your strong point, which I'm sure brings you plenty of friends and such. Your next most active would be the lounge it looks like. I suppose thats good to see. slammin shelby - Well I think its great that you put in a application to be on staff, and your application is okay. It doesn't really sound like anything original or out of the box, it sounds like many typical ones. Also you don't meet the requirements I Shot JFK - Hmm, your application is very short but it sounds very mature. I think you do show a good deal of potential of being on staff and you know how to deal with problems. Your most active in the lounge, you seem to be well known which is somewhat a bonus. And you have the official member status and you have 29.9 ppd which is outstanding. When I went through your posts I was quite impressed, you do post quite a bit around and you seem to leave good answers. Sometimes I think you should step out of the lounge so much and posts in other places perhaps? I think its nice that you can input your opinion without going on a cussing spree like some people at times throughout this community. Although if you were to get on staff, I think sometimes you would really have to watch yourself perhaps. Bite your tongue sometimes. |

Mel - Haven't really seen much of your "mature" side, Melissa.... >.< Again, maybe I'm wrong. I've definately improoved as for my 'mature' side. I think you haven't been on enough to see that I have. Maybe you haven't talked to me or seen my posts yet. Or maybe you're saying that because maybe you haven't really conversed with me and based it on the past. But thanks for replying about me. |

I've seen Melissa's (Jeng) mature side multiple times. She's more mature than you may think, although I know what your talking about not seeing her "mature" side, but it exist.
I think her mature side is definitely qualified to be a mod. |

Not to be rude Melissa, but with you saying this it kind of shows that you can't take criticism all that much. She was just voicing out what she has seen, and when I read your post just now I kind of got the impression that you had a attitude behind this. |

-shrugs- Okay, I can see how you could see that. But I think she could have defended herself a little differently. Atleast the end sounded okay though.
Anyway I don't think shes a bad person to be on staff though, she seems like a very qualfied person and knows whats shes doing around the community. |

QUOTE Mike - Also no. Just a note Mike, replying to rejected skins with "You have no idea what you're talking about, my skins are amazing. Everyone loves them! Look they have 100 favorites! You're an idiot and a waste of life." is not the best way to get hired. Besides having issues with him personally, I don't think he is talented design-wise, and he has broken waaaayy to many rules to be considered for staff. actually i didn't say that all i said was what was wrong with them i thought they were fine and to give me some feedback. I also never said anyone was an idoit or a waste of life. i respect all of the staffs opinions but they never give reasons which really doesn't help people. I have resolved all conflicts and have accepted things are going to happen... yes i overreacted but i have goten my personal emotions under control and feel i would be able to do the job |

^I think their kind of waiting for you to completely improve. Aparently some of your problems happened not that long ago, because I think if it happened a while ago and you really took the time and effort to improve they would react like that and blantly say no

Oh okay, well I guess I understand. Although I think you should get the facts first before getting a attitude, agree?

Just so you guys know--after a submission is accepted, the rejection box disappears. So if it is going to be rejected later on, a reason cannot be given due to technicality not because the mod is lazy and does not wish to give you feedback. It is something that needs to be fixed.
Continue with the discussion on applicants (and thanks to those who do!). |

um yeah i was a little immature there. but yeah aways.. monica. why. haven't. you. applied.?i think you would be great people staff. the reasons are obvious. i don't really have time...for it at the moment, but thanks anyways. :x melissa (jeng) - i know everyone has a mature side, but i don't know if it would always shine through. as you said, even though people can be mature, they can me immature as well sometimes, right? michael (mipadi)- since he's been a mod and all, i think he'd make a great mod. judging by his application, he sounds pretty professional. tina (tic tac.) - i feel like she should definitely become mod. she's very mature, she's very friendly, she's a ninja (i love her mike (t0rmented_soul) - he's mature, he's friendly, he can be serious when he needs to be serious, but he knows how to have a good time, and when to have a good time. what's there not to like? ann (x1227x) - hmm, i don't know about you being a mod. i mean, i think you'd make a good one of you would just shape up a bit? krista (marzipan) - you said in your app. : "I'd also like to say, one mistake I made last time as a mod was being indecisive and a bit sensitive around criticism." i wonder if you are still sensitive about criticism now. other than that, you sound like you have learned from being mod last time, and i'd like to see you on staff again. sometimes i wonder what people would do if they were mod. "would they know what to do?" "are they in it just for the power, or title?" "are they able to take charge but still have fun with it?" This post has been edited by UHH: Jan 7 2007, 05:53 PM |

May I point something out?
Several candidates have had their maturity questioned, Melissa in particular. But I really think that it ought to be pointed out that there is a difference between actually being 'immature', and merely being young. A young person, while they may not have the experience of their elders (which, admittedly is a disadvantage, but it isnt insurmountable) is still perfectly capable of learning the ropes, provided they come at it with the right attitude, which I think candidates like Jane and Mel would most likely do. Cb has a history of young mods who did a great job (Toby, off the top of my head), so dont discount them. Basically, stop confusing youth with an actually immature attitude. |
