I can't begin to describe how much I enjoy Henry David Thoreau's "Civil Disobedience" essay. Has anyone read it? It's such an eye opener. I mean, there are some views experessed in it that I don't quite agree with. But still, this is definitely a work of literature to read. so... discuss? Anyone read it and whatnot? Whaddya thtink of it? Along those lines.

I love that essay
I was on the edge of my... bed (was reading there) all throughout it. I can understand people being bored. Some difficult words there. Either them just being confusing ones, or old-style words. But I think once you start understanding it, you get the hang of the book and you get interested. |

I've always been a fan of Walden and learned a lot about Thoreau stance against racism in social studies. I've only read a little tiny bit of "Civil Disobedience." Sounds great though

Thoreau is one of my idols! I respect him so much! Civil Disobedience is such a well written essay. I adored it (even if it got a bit starch in places). I remember when I was assigned to read it, I couldn't stop!
