well, for me, i just randomly make a blend or something, and then decide to make it a layout.
i dont usually think, o im going to make a...harry potter layout. i usually think, im going to make a harry potter blend. if it comes out alright, i might turn it into a layout. |

well, you can either feather out parts of it and put it on top of a background, or make spaces on it for your info. just be creative.
