maybe you should start talking to him on Aim. It helps get you 2 more comfortable talking to each other. You could also call him; and if you`re too shy to do that; call up a friend; and you could 3way call him. It`s fun actually. Call a really hyper / fun friend to help stir things up. Good luck

i usually have never liked someone if wasn't pretty good friends with first, because i usually fall for people once i get to know their personality and all.

however there was one time where i was in the same situation as you...there was this one boy who i really liked. just try to be friends with him first. don't really plan out what you are going to say ahead of time, unless you are sure that you will really just go up to him and say it when you have never talked to him before.

If you are in any classes with him or have lunch the same time as him, it should be easier. If he asks a question or is talking to his friends, overhear something that they say and go "oh you know what?" and make a comment. Start sitting near him during lunch or something. Just let your relationship, even as friends, develop.

It worked for me. And even though I don't like him anymore, in the process I became very close friends with the rest of his friends, and they are some of my best friends now. Actually, I like one of them now, but that was after I became extremely good friends with him.
