Four of the guys behind the The Pirate Bay, the largest torrent tracker in the world, were found guilty of being "accessories to copyright infringement", and sentenced to 1 year in jail and a $3.56 million fine. There are a lot of subtleties in this case. For example, The Pirate Bay's servers only enabled people to share copyrighted files; no copyrighted material actually passed through the servers. Does merely enabling the distribution of copyright materials make a server administrator an "accessory to copyright infringement"? Are copyright laws becoming outdated? Is this an example of a court bowing to corporate pressure over the good of society, or is sharing music and movies inherently immoral?

Well, Demonoid has had its share of problems as well. That site is far too scrutinized as it is.
