Don't you hate it when you talk about an event you're holding or sometimes you don't even mention it at all and people automatically invite themselves to it? Or how about people who come over your house without even asking and staying for dinner?

Haha, this topic just shows me exactly how sad I am sometimes. The other day I was sitting in a group of people that I get along really well with. It was after band camp and we were all tired from working, and they were making plans to go out to eat. They sat there for at least five minutes deciding on where they wanted to go while I just sat there in the group. Eventually everyone left - nobody asked me if I wanted to go. So I got in my car and went home. xD So there, I said it. I was kind of upset. It's like, surely they wouldn't have minded if I'd gone with them, otherwise they wouldn't have been planning it with me around, right? But still because of stuff like this, I was too afraid to jump in and invite myself, even if it was something like "hey if you guys need somebody to drive to Hot Springs, I can take some people". Sometimes I wonder if I'm too paranoid, other times I wonder if maybe people just don't like me. ._.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm too paranoid, other times I wonder if maybe people just don't like me. ._. That is EXACTLY what I would feel like/do. I hate being left out, but I also hate taking the initiative and asking if I can tag along or to assume I've been included in other people's plans. I think I'm just really self-conscious/have low self-confidence. I've never had people other than family randomly show up uninvited (other than surprise birthday visits :]) but I can see how it'd be annoying. |
