Are there anyone of you fellow members knows how to write a synthesis essay which is require by the College Board in Advance Placement Language and Composition class aka AP LANG&COMP?

I really need to help to write a "real" synthesis essay. It's challenging for me.
On the other hand, it's my last synthesis essay so I want to use the best of my abilities.

Does anyone dont mind helping me, please? _unsure.gif

According to my critics, the problem with my essay is that I just state the "facts" and not really supporting the analysis ... like I have good analysis but it doesn't go deep enough or critical.

My essay is about the fairness media's influences on beauty standard for girls and guys which I am against it.

Remember that when you're analyzing, you should make sure you're able to piece together the facts or statements that you're analyzing. Not just staying the obvious, but something like:

Because of X and Y, one can derive that blah blah blah.

Analysis isn't just facts, it's also about how things relate in order to clarify your argument.

And if you're talking about the media, then you're talking about how social norms on body image have been shaped by the media. Don't just state facts -- think about the human psyche. People are caught up on what the media portrays. Why is that? Because people are afraid to be different? People see beauty because beauty is portrayed in a way that caters to so many different people. The media is what INFORMS us, therefore we become dependent on it, in a way that it shapes social norms.

Of course I totally just pulled this shit out of my ass, so I don't know if it will help you. Also, this post is like, a week late. AHAHAHHAH Good luck.

EDIT - btw I was HORRIBLE when it came to writing English essays. I could write pretty good history essays, but English essays just wouldn't work. :[ But after taking an English course in college, I actually crank out really good essays. Man, high school doesn't teach you crap! I mean, I used to think I would never be able to write English essays, but now I realized that it was just that my teachers were bad. >=[
