I know there's already a breakdancer thread, but it didn't quite fit under what I was looking for o.O...
I started out breakdancing, (still am practicing), but after a while I also sorta got into all sorts of pop-dancing, and even swing dancing. Swing dancing is REALLY FUN for those of you who've never tried it. Anyways, any like *dancers* out there? Care to impart upon me your wisdom and experience? I haven't been dancing for long, so I'm not too good. Ballroom dancing even, any form of dance. I love dancing = D. Btw, for those of you who don't know, ALL forms of dance are much harder than they look! I know from experience of trying something that looked easy and ending up hurting myself = (. |

I've always wanted to take dance. My parents think it's a waste of money though...so if I really wanted to take dance, I'd have to save up money for it [which I'm sort of doing right now. I can't get a proper job until I'm 16 though..at least that's how it is over here).
It's a little late to be taking up dancing at my age though. Isn't it better to have started dancing when you were younger?!?! But, I really do have passion for dancing though, and I'm not just talking about hip-hop and breakdancing. I'd really love too try jazz, ballet, tap, ballroom, etc. It all looks reallyyy fun. Other than that, all I'm doing right now is learning a few breakdancing moves from my friends...and I try to help them choreograph their dance routines for their performances and stuff. And the dance team at my school is like...bogus. You HAVE to have experience with dancing (I mean it...I've taken an application before), and their dancing is really only based on jazz. ![]() |

I don't know where you are but here in Britain there are lots of teachers who will let you dance for free if you're really passionate and your parents won't pay. I think these people do scholarships too: http://www.myspace.com/pasdedeuxlondon Also, my sister is a dancer and a boy at her class cleans the studios to pay for his lessons, you could always volunteer to do something like that. |
