Not a song, but, I'm listening to a short narrative from Haruki Murakami's Kafka on the Shore.

Hm, started reading about a month or so ago, I think. Some days I don't get to it, though. sad.gif I recently just started listening to it, though.

I agree; it's a good f*cking novel. Gives me brain-gasms.

I had to reread some parts a few times because everything's just so trippy, even though it takes place in modern-day Japan. Plus, it's written in a postmodern style, which is difficult to understand the first time around. So, so amazing, though.

Is this your first Murakami novel as well? He has other awesome ones I can recommend you if you'd like. :D

Agreed. I love the part where Kafka has to watch that man (forgot his name, gonna re-read later) kill those five cats. Incredibly gory, but amazing, as you said yourself.

Psh, as if you could bear to live without devouring his works after learning of his genius. ;)

I was going to ask if you got to that part! Every time I rec this book, I have to give fair warning that something horrible happens to the poor cats. D:

The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, Dance Dance Dance, Sputnik Sweetheart, and South of the Border, West of the Sun (I'm reading the copy I bought and I like it, just not as much as Kafka because that book is crazy awesome) are all good. The first two are about as long as Kafka on the Shore, and are also trippy reads in a good way; the last two are shorter and easier to get through. I plan to own all his books as soon as possible, since right now I only own the novels I just recommended to you.
