^ bloody music communists indeed.

QUOTE(ryfitaDF @ Aug 1 2006, 1:56 PM) *
that's why there is no viewers choice this year.^

yeah i know. but i mean before, having the viewers choice meant a lot for the artists, though. now every category is viewers choice. i think the committee is just too damn lazy to pick winners themselves.

another thing is that i have a feeling it's not honestly going to go to the artist that deserves it. i doubt people will actually pay attention to the category when voting. it'll just be the artist whose fans have the most time on their hands to sit there and vote.

Just for the record... A7X > P!ATD. Nuff said.

I hate MTV. Their award shows are THE WORST.

They give awards and nominations to the most popular artists, not necessarily the best.

Indeed. They are also to lazy to search beyond the usual suspects to find other artists who fly under the radar but still have awesome videos.

Hence, the reason why its ALL viewers choice. rawr. mtv is evil. remember a time when mtv was actually about MUSIC?

if it wasnt for that panic video i would have never heard of htem and I wouldnt have listened and bought the album and fell in love. I deeply respect their msuic. And I know this coming from a pop/r&b singer isnt exactly saying a lot but I hate scene music and emo kids and I love panic. Not because they were on mtv either. so shut up and stop thinking that. I hope they win over people like rihanna.

their the latest fad, in the next couple of months theyll be over. MTV is so predictable they nominate/vote for artists who are in right now just to get more 12 year old viewers

^ some music is always better underground, but then the teeny boppers roll in and think they've been fans since the beginning.

5 nominations at the VMA'S??! when the boppers are happy, i bet the first EP fans will hate it. mellow.gif

oh well its not like i'll be watching the VMAs anyway.

Then what was the point of making this thread? Just to rant about Panic! At The Disco?

QUOTE(yummy_delight @ Aug 1 2006, 9:16 PM) *
They give awards and nominations to the most popular artists, not necessarily the best.

When was anything not a popularity contest?

I'm not sure who I want to win or anything. I hope I'll be able to catch it either way, I like watching the performances.

Where does it say that the viewers are voting this year and there isn't a "Viewer's Choice"? I know that the latter is definitely wrong because this is the full list from MTV.

I like P!ATD, actually.

Their cd is really good - I never actually listen to the songs that are singles, but the other songs are good.

I don't know whether they deserve 5 nominations, but I like them. _smile.gif
