Just got home from seeing it a while ago. Wasn't as great as it was hyped up to be, but it wasn't bad either. Heath Ledger/Essin's accent sucked, though. Pretty sad movie. Nothing that made it stand out too much, though--just that it was a movie about two homosexuals.

Kudos to Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal for having the balls to play gay characters, though. :)

Its funny. Being a gay guy I guess I should see it as its probably one of the few big movies featuring a gay couple. But I don't know. At first I really wanted to see it. But now seeing the trailers it looks like another "Romeo&Juliet"-esque love story. Except instead of being two rival families its two married gay men. I'll probably see it eventually but I'm not getting my hopes up and I'm not rushing out to see it.

It was good. True, not as good as most made it seem, but it was definitely good. Sweet. Sad. All that stuff.

Yeah, Heath's accent sucked, but gosh, I was never attracted to him before this movie. ehh...ok.

I finally saw it a week or so ago, and I personally liked it. I thought it was a pretty good movie. Pretty good storyline I thought anyways.

I want to see it, but I don't want to see the gay scenes because I don't find Jake Gyllenhall(sp) attractive. (lol I'm so mean). If he was just emo...

It is a good movie. It brought a couple of tears to my eyes, as well. I'm such a sap.

But still. An unrequited love. How romantically tragic!

I think his accent was tottally on actually, I love in Texas and I see a lot of men who act, talk, and walk like that. The way Ang Lee portrayed life, REAL life was beautiful, dead on, and horribly saddening.

Exactly. I completely agree. thumbsup.gif

But yeah, I didn't know Anne Hathaway was in it, I found that cool/interesting.

I've seen brokeback. It's rather crappy. I was sorta hoping there'd be a confession first before the tent scene. The screenplay was crappy. It focused too much on the story that they have forgotten to make the whole picture beautiful. Critics are gay which is why the movie is critically acclaimed. It's not that I hate gay people, I don't. I would've loved the movie if they made it more..more..romantic. I've read the book Maurice by EM forster and it's about a an English man who realized he love men. The time period of the book was in the early 1900s. It's one of the most beautiful books i've read. I fell in love with it.
