Okay, before you vote, I'd like you to read this. As some of you may know, Death Cab and The Postal Service have the same lead singer, so I was just wondering which of the two you like better since each band has the same voice but different sound.

Now if you've only heard of the Postal Service (since they've been getting some airplay lately) and you haven't even heard of Death Cab For Cutie please don't vote, unless you've listened to both bands recently.

I'm actually fond of both bands, but I was just wondering what everyone else thought, too.

Mucho love,

Alyson

I think you should stop inferring things you're not sure of.

No, I was saying that most people were saying postal service because they've probably never heard of death cab. I was not saying people's opinions sucked.

no death cab songs are NOT boring. maybe you just don't understand them.

QUOTE(learninghowtofall @ Apr 18 2005, 7:47 PM)
yeah that's your opinion, but maybe if you actually understood the lyrics they wouldn't be boring to you.

Seems to me that you are telling her she is stupid and doesn't understand Death Cab. It is her opinion and you should not go around telling her that maybe if she was "smarter" enough she would like Postal Service more.

Anyways who watched the O.C. last night?! As William said, Death Cab was on. It made me sad, because now a bunch of slutty rich girls will go around saying "OHMYGAWD I LYKE LOVE DEATH CAB BECAUSE THEY ARE SETHS FAVORTIE BANDDDD OHMYGAWD"

Ugh. *stabs rich slutty girls with sharp spork* That's what happened to Yellowcard, Good Charlotte, and Simple Plan as well. Thank God I don't listen to any of those bands anymore.

The Shins played at AE? stubborn.gif

Who really cares if their music was played in an AE store. They're still great. Its music elitist snobs who piss me off more than teeny bopper girls.

A Mcdonald's commercial?

Well, I try not to let it bother me that much. I don't start turning down bands because they hit it mainstream, it just gets annoying to have to deal with a fanbase of people who I personally feel don't appreciate the music wholeheartedly.
[/off topic-ness]

I never knew it was so hard to choose between the two. I'm listening to another one of my favorite DCFC songs, 405 the acoustic version. It's a very interesting song. ^_^

Mucho love,

they have giant blown up pictures of transatlanticism on the wall along with a listening station for that record in the virgin record megastore in san francisco. i should also mention the rest of the listening stations were for big pop artists. that and many other similar things (such as they were signed to atlantic, their shirts are sold in hot topic, etc.) make me consider them mainstream... or at least borderline mainstream. i think their next record ("plans") is going to be huge.

*gags* Now I'm going to have to start preparing myself for Adam Brody-obssessed, short-skirt wearing, OC-watching, teeny bopper girls running around screaming "DCFC is lyke TEH BEST BAND EVA!!11oneoneoneone!!!!!!" _dry.gif

Hot Topic?

Noooooooooooooooo!111!!one!!!

I wouldn't say they're mainstream. They're known, but not really for their music, only because of the OC. I was reading in an article that they don't want to get big or have videos on mtv. They just want to make music they love.
